6 more hours!!!

I've never been a fan of electroluminescent gauges, but I'm unsure about the red either. I like my 07's green. Old school but easy on the eyes.

You can add an alarm system, and as a bonus will automatically lock your doors when you turn on the ignition. Just be careful not to be stupid like me where this feature caused me to lock my keys inside a running car once. Took me 15 minutes but I was able to use a coat hanger to turn off the car and unlock the doors. lol.
Yeah this 5 has the feature, where it won't allow you to lock any doors, if key is inside.

90210, in pic "maz4" what is the black vehicle behind yours? Except for the taillights, they are almost identical from the angle.

Debadged the rear this weekend. Couldn't drive it more, had fun with the Lotus.

No no what happens is that my alarm system auto locks the door when you turn on the ignition, and auto unlocks when you turn it off. Kinda like how some modern cars auto locks the door once you get into Drive or go a certain speed. Anyway I turned on the car with the door opened, then went out to check the hood, closed the door without thinking, and when I went to go back into the car, stupid door was locked!!!

I know that all modern cars with power door locks yes won't let you lock the door if the key is in the ignition. There was one time when I wanted to charge my phone in my Mazda 5 while I was in a restaurant... I put my key in the ignition with the accessories on, then I manually locked each and every single door except the one back door, exited out the back. Now all the doors was locked. I covered up the front display so the car wouldn't look like it was on. Not recommended all the time due to theft concerns but I needed to charge my phone.

LOL yikes. You could have probably use the restuarant charger!

I have other cars with auto lock, and prefer that. But my 2012 5 Touring doesn't have it. Oh well.

Car really needs tinted windows Have to figure out mettalic vs ceramic and % I want to do. So that will really be first mod.

Debadged the rear this weekend.

Thanks for the pic. I'm typically not a fan of debadging but removing the name plate made it look clean. The new horizontal rear lamps already make the 5 look wider and lower and the name plate just drew your attention even lower.

Now...for hat offset antennae. You noted earlier you were going to switch it out? Not sure if you meant the complete unit because the whip is not separable from the base.

Hi, yes I think debadging it look cleaner, because otherwise the name plate on one side, was too offset.

I am going to switch it out for something super tiny. I tried switching it out with my MINI stubby one this weekend, but the thread patterns weren't the same.

This is interesting. The complete antenna unit comes off the roof? May I ask how? Pull, twist, etc? I could have sworn it was a one piece unit tied down to the roof.

Base attached to the roof. Antennae is a screw on. Initially I might go with stubby antennae.

Eventually (if it bothers me enough), will remove it together and just fill it, and have a body shop complete it.

Too bad sharkfin won't work for you. You'd have to really artistic to like a sharkfin antenna on the side.

May be you can do the antenna on the rear windshield - will take a little bit of work but goes well with the clean look!

EDIT: OR you can add an extra dummy sharkfin (pair) for cohesiveness sake –it’ll make your ride look fast! LOL.

I have a sharkfin on my NC2 on the trunk, and I do like it. I might source a Copper Red sharfin from Miata, and see if that works. Personally I don't need the antennae. I don't listen to music in my cars.

Sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm/keyless?

We used to have a vehicle that wouldn't let you lock the driver's door if the key was turned ON and a front door was opened. But all cars let you lock the door with the key in the ignition.

I'd do some exploring if I were you and try to find the model # off the module. Then hopefully you can google for the programming manual and disable that feature.
