Im new to this site and I have a new 2. Unfortuanetly I bought an injen cai and it wont fit bc it is only for manual trannies. I was just seeing if there were any 2 owners in the Dallas area that would be wanting to purchase this part. It has never been installed and cost around $250.

Hi,

Did you try to install the CAI? Sometimes the only difference is the need to delete a bracket and fab a new one.

I am planning to install an Injen CAI on my Maxda 2. My two previous cars were Subarus ... a 2002 WRX and a 2006 Legacy GT. A cold air or ram air intake was not recommended for those cars as they caused difficulties with the air/fuel ratio readings which resulted in the cars running too rich even when tuned. I gather that increasing air flow into the Mazda 2 NA engine via a CAI or a SRI is a desirable modification rather than something to be avoided.

Also does someone know a reliable and knowledgeable mechanic at a shop in the Toronto area that I can go to to get the CAI installed and hopefully slightly modified as my car is an automatic and the only CAI that Injen sells for the MZ2 just now is specified as for manual transmissions only?

thats what it seems but i bought the SRI a few days ago and its supposed to be here on monday and since i have an auto injen might not have been a good option. but alas, i shall design a cold air box/shield

I wasn't able to install my injen cai this weekent due to the face it was raining. I plan on doing it saturday after I change my oil, I should post pics when it is insalled.

I installed my Injen intake SP6030BLK a week ago. ZERO issues in the last week.
It fits perfectly. With no interference or rattle.
The car gets through the rev range faster for sure.
Butt dyno definitely registers an increase in power (mostly mid range).
It sounds amazing without being too loud (under normal lightfoot driving there is almost no noise).
Because of the location of the filter I am installing the HydroShield pre filter to protect against any water splasing that may occur.

Just thought I'd bump this thread with my thoughts.
