What have you done to your P5 today?

All of it....and you are third in line Tony. Pmd a local guy who expressed some interest a while ago as well as someone else from the Hat. ;)

There may be an official f/s thread started this weekend...all depends on if I have the spare time.

Oh noes, Jeff! I'll be sad to see her go...

What are you getting to replace her?

Got a call that the quote will be $3000 for a used engine with 48k on the odo installed. If only I had the money...

painted and installed the stock side skirts I bought from Brandon last week
(they werent on my p5 when I bought it)

Got a CEL on my way to work last night, When driving it seems ok, when I let off the gas the RPM's kind of bounce around and the car is very jerky, not running like it was before the coils so I know ive solved the coils issue....anyone have any idea?

just needs to be wetsanded and buffed and its going back on the car.

Started it up for the first time in a week.. Ooof. Also discovered that I either have a water leak around my glove box area or my something funky is going on with the AC... the inside of my glovebox smells like moldy ass... :(

AC drain may be plugged. Happened on... umm... one of my cars. Can't remember which. LOL.

I had the same problem in my old P5 when I had the AC fixed. There is a steel bar behind the glove box, when the AC was ran for prolonged times it would cause condesation I found water in the glove box and on the mat. Check it out. I just wrapped it with some rags and seemed to remedy the problem untill the ac stopped working again.

I bench-tested my rear O2 sensor using a propane torch and a voltage meter, it seems to be working. In a simulated lean condition it was putting out 0.85V which should be more than enough to pass the test described by the P0140 DTC (the ECU looks for >0.55V in a 30 second window during drive mode 3). This made me believe the connector was at fault so I cleaned it and pulled the pins closer to the center of the socket.

While I was under my car I noticed a couple things:
  1. The stud that holds the shifter linkage to the transaxle was very loose, I tightened that up and put blue threadlocker on everything.
  2. It appears the gasket around my oil pan is slowly starting to leak, I'm going to keep an eye on it but it doesn't look very promising. I'm thinking it was a bad idea to use a cork gasket and RTV, I should have listened to the service manual and just used RTV (bang)

Met up with some other Mazdas at the Mazda Corral at Road America... going back for more tomorrow!
