What have you done to your P5 today?

Stopping at Napa on the way home to pick up the K&N filter cleaner as well as new spark plugs and some injector cleaner for the next fill up.

Last night the wife laid down the law. She said I was not to buy any more parts for the car until I get the rust fixed. What I heard "once you get the rust fixed, you can buy anything you want for the car". I love her so. (evil)

So I took a look at the new calipers I installed on Sunday, they're already covered with surface rust, WTF.

I'm hoping it's just metallic brake dust that's oxidized ... otherwise I guess I'll have to paint them.

cheese I had the same thing happen. They aren't rustproofed at all and are bare metal. Brush off the little bit of surface rust and paint em.

I have never had "THE NOTORIOUS CLUNK" but as soon as I put my Racing Beat Sway on it didn't want to stay centered and kept sliding into the end of the trailing arms. I don't think you need those brackets just go to the hardware store and get some clamshell locking collars. Not sure what they are used for but they have 2 allen bolts holding the halves together and I slid one on either side butted up against the bushings to keep the bar centered.

...also if you are lowered and don't have the proper length endlinks you may be hitting a lower lateral link. You want to keep the sway bar parallel to the ground. So if your lowered 1.5" you should have 1.5" longer endlinks.

I did what you everybody said. now the top is in the otherside of the tab.... my car it feels much better but I am hearing a clunk on my rear passenger side. and also i noticed the black clamps of the bar are separate about 1.5" from the bushings.. do you recommend to use those awr bar spacers?

those ones:

I did the same thing! lol Went to Napa got some spark plugs lol Also my wife said no more spending money till July. Going to Thailand for our honeymoon. This means I cant have extra "repair" money =)

Hi...Is it hard to run a new line to fuse box? Can one fuse support multiple gauges?

How many gauges are you running? Its easy to run the lines, just take off the panels to make it easier for you. Where are you mounting the gauge? As for the fuse if the blows 2 gauges wont work. lol

^ NICE!! LOL! (kiss) Gotta love man/woman communication!

hehe it's all in the interpretation. ;)

Nice...NAPA was a bust for me. The dude ordered a 32oz spray bottle of K&N cleaner but it was power kleen and said it worked on metal and plastic surfaces. No way was I spraying my filter down with that. Guess I gotta order it online and pay some damn shipping. Stopped at AZ to get plugs, injector cleaner and for the hell of it picked up a 3/8" universal joint. Didn't have one in the tool box and I know it will come in handy + it put me over the $20 mark so I get credit towards my next free $20. :)

Oh yeah, thought I remembered reading on here about using washers to keep the exhaust from moving? The stock hangers aren't doing s***. I've adjusted the tip back to the center about two dozen times now and after the first drive is all the way to the left when looking at the rear of the car. Thinking about pulling the trigger on some CS hangers but could have sworn there was a "how-to" for a cheaper fix.

I would opt for the CS hangers. They are stiff as hell and don't let your exhaust rattle or shift. Or you can put hose clamps around the rubber of your stockers to tighten them up. Or put zipties on both side of the metal part of the hanger to keep the stock rubber from slipping back and forth.

Thanks Evan....knew I had read of some 'quick fixes'. Thinking I'll just do it up right and buy the CS hangers...they are a pretty blue. lol

Drove it to GA for the MITTY!! WOOOOOOO!!!! MAZDA FEST!!!!

Dude....I so wish I had gone....just wasn't in the cards. Ah well, have fun man!

Took off the sticky front caliper this morning and lubed everything up, hopefully that fixes it :S

I tried working quickly (inspired by JosueZQ8's incredible speed) and it still took me an hour to get that done...

yes, i do have the awr endlinks which are about 7.75" to make the bar parallel to the ground. well that is good idea. let me buy the clamshells today!

So I made it 3-4 stops before I felt the caliper dragging again, I'm guessing the slide pins aren't the problem and it's the piston that's getting stuck. I noticed this morning that I'm missing one of those springy metal clips that help keep the pads apart but I doubt that's the problem...

It's new caliper time, right?

I read a thread that showed you how to take the caliper piston out for cleaning and to replace the rubber booties. Check the How-To section, they can be rebuilt. I usually just buy new ones though. Brakes are something I never felt comfortable rebuilding since they are kinda important.

Very good point sir, I'm not going to be a cheap bastard on this one :)

I'll get some properly rebuilt calipers from rockauto.
