What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

Speaking of suspension, I have officially given up on installing my H&Rs (for this weekend, at least).

I brought it into my local shop to have them torch off those blasted endlinks first thing this morning. After getting it back home, I went to work again, only to find that a) the nut on top of the shock is completely frozen and b) the 17mm nut holding the fork to the lower control arm on the driver's side is also frozen. I borrowed a Snap-On cordless torque wrench from a buddy of mine (450 lb.ft.), and even that f**ker couldn't make it budge.

I really, really love living in Maine. But I also really, really hate corroded suspension components.

Attempted to remove the endlinks from the stock swaybar (removed from car) and swap them to the Racing Beat sway and just can't do it. Pretty sure I messed something up between the allen key and turning that bolt lol. Probably just gonna order the RB endlinks for $40.

Now, first thing that scared me actually with this suspension is that when it came in it said on the manual "03+ Mazda 6", I remember reading a while ago that youre not supposed to use suspension designed for the mazda 6 on the mazdaspeed 6 (I can't remember why, maybe because of the extra weight because of the AWD? I'm not sure...) but anyways so I messaged to other members on this forum about that, and they said their BC's also said Mazda 6 and that it was fine so I went ahead and got them installed. I've been running them for over a year now with no issues.

Installation:
Depends how "handy" you are. I'm not very good with suspension so I got 2 mechanics (one of them being my friend) to install them. The fronts are very easy to do, they are the "A-Arm" setup I believe and I probably could have done them myself... The backs were the biggest c*nt ever, lol. Very difficult IMO with the independent suspension in the rear, tones of crap gets in the way... Again I'm not good with suspension and I didn't even wanna touch the rear, I got the two mechanics to do it. 32 way dampness adjustment, I left mine in the middle (or 16) in between soft and hard, for both the front and rear. Coilovers DID fully settle after 2 weeks.

Handling
Like a track car! Much better then stock, very stiff car for me felt like it drove on rails. Driving it home coming on the highway on ramp I noticed right away how much better it gripped the road. With this type of handling though, I became enemies with bumpy and uneven roads lol... VERY stiff, so driving on bad roads really sucks now, people in my back seats sometimes complain on how rough the ride is, depending on the road.

Ride Height
I make jokes once in a while saying how these coilovers are for Hella Flush cars... why? Because you can drop the car on the ground... These coilovers go VERY low, I actually have mine at the highest height right now and it's still almost slammed. How I was running it before I had the back maxed out to the lowest, the front could go down another 3 inches and I was already 3 inches from the ground. This was my ride height last year, compared to my friend with stock mazdaspeed 6 suspension:

I payed $1,000.00 for my coilovers, taxes in shipped :D. I got a good deal since my other friend bought the same suspension from them at the same time as me. My car is not sitting at that height now. I've raised it probably an inch and 3/4 all the way around, but I bought new tires that are slightly wider then stock with a taller sidewall compared to stock. The car sits a bit higher off the ground, the wheel gap hasnt changed and theyre not as tucked in with the wider tire. I don't have any pics right now of the car with the new tires and adjusted height.

I'm happy to answer any other questions :)
Rhoad Block and Danems6 also have this suspension if you wanted to ask them any questions.

Thank you! One last question, how's the road noise? Anything more noticeable that closer to the ground?

Sweet!! Thanks for the info buddy!! Nice to see what it looks like slammed w/the stockers. Did you have spacers installed in that pic?

Mine was $999 shipped. :)

Ohhh...look what I picked up for a song:

A bit dirty...but fk it, its gonna get dirty sooner or later. Got it from a local member for $370 and he also gave me some other little things and some free advice. Thanks Paul!

No spacers for me. Road noise did increase a TINY bit, in the back, whenever you go over big bumps at high speeds.... I think this is because the rear BC suspension doesn't come with padded/rubber cover like things at the top of the piece that attaches to the car so it's kinda like metal hitting on metal... I wish I took a pic of them before they were installed so I could show you lol.

Not enough road noise increase to really make a difference though.

did a little detailing.
Exterior- Wash and wax
Interior- Vacuumed, quick interior detail on the plastics, and found some carpet cleaner. Looks good!

Hmmm, I wonder if putting something in between would help.
Regardless, you have the music on, you really shouldn't notice it too much.

Yes, the mechanics actually said unless you put a rubber piece "here" it MIGHT make some noise going over big bumps... and like I said I don't hear it very often. Only when I'm going 70 km/h + and go over like a really really big bump it just makes a "cling" noise, nothing that bothers me.

You should be pleased with the BC's, I thought they were good (y). Lol, the car can go much lower... that last pic I posted, was when I could bring it down another 3 inches or so... yet I measured and I was just over 3 inches from the ground. I literally could have been touching the ground :|. I still like them, amazing for the price.

Put the TIP/SRI and BPV back on for the first time since I got the turbo replaced and it was pretty today.. Gotta love not having deep sockets and t-bolt clamps that you can only turn a 1/4 of a turn each time.. It took me 15 minutes to tighten down the coupler that goes to the turbo lol..

Posted a wheel thread about which wheels to get since im getting new tires im gonna go ahead and get new wheels..

Check it out if you want.. Let me know which do you think is better in your opinion
