Great job on the floor Mark! That color is in now. We looked at a few houses with those floors...unfortunately one was too expensive and the other needed a roof and a bunch of other stuff that didn't offset the nice floors.

Whoo clutch job is done!

With huge huge huge amounts of help from my friend's friend Neil, we got it done. Crazy, in a way! Pulling a trans out. The clutch feels like it needs some break-in, it's a little chattery at very low RPMs, only have about 35 city miles on it now. Lightweight flywheel is WAY lighter than stock.

Only have one pic of work in progress, blurry too:

Rear main seal looked a little wet, but didn't plan ahead, so did not have a new one ready (also dont' know how to replace those):

Thanks Chris for coming over and helping out!

ya, we're trying to do things that will make it more appealing to sell, and for us to enjoy for the time we're there...i also did the crown, recessed lighting, paint and closet system with built in drawers/cabinets so i don't need a dresser any longer.

recessed lighting, nice? in the kitchen?

My summer project I think is going to be shelves and cabinets in the garage. I priced out pre-fab stuff at Lowes and Homedepot and the prices were rediculous! I could build something functional at half the price with 2x4s and plywood.

That's awesome Oleg! Wish I could have been there to help. I've never worked on a transmission before and if I keep my car (yea...I know)....then in a year I'll need to do my clutch.

actually, the bedoom....i'm thinking of putting some in the kitchen as well, back in 90, recessed light wasn't as hot...

So a storm rolled through last night that knocked out the power, cable, internet, etc for about 7+ hrs... I had lightening strike so close that my apartment shook from the thunder. It was fun to watch from the porch though since I had no power and all.

Morning all! Floor looks great Mahk and the recessed lighting is nice. We have them in our bedroom, Jared's bedroom and the living room. I'd love to put some in my daughters room as well.

Damn...I thought I'd make through the cold season without getting sick. As usual, I was wrong :)

The worst part is I can't even call out of work.

really, you think you'll need to do the clutch so soon? how many miles?

So Amanda and I went and drove a few Miatas last weekend. A '92 with 170k and an '07 with 40k. Amanda wasn't very fond of the NA and it had some issues. I would've never bought the one we drove but i wanted her to get a feel for a cheap car. Obviously she liked the 07 more and i actually didn't have trouble driving it. Actually she REALLY liked the 07. At this point though, i think we may just hold off on the 'toy car' idea until next spring when my MS6 is paid off. Then we could swing another car payment and the MS6 will become my winter car and we'll share a new-ish miata. Insurance says it'll cost $200/6months for it to be a part-time car with max of 8,000 miles. If we only drive it half the year and on nice days that should be about the mileage we'd put on it.

I still like the idea of an old MR2 beater though. I just haven't found one for sale nearby. The closest ones are in Providence and I'm just not up for a drive down there right now. I think the key point is price. I could pay cash for something under $2k right now...or we could finance something in a year.

BTW, Oleg practically stole that Scuubie. If I could find a deal like that on a fun car for the summer i'd be all over it. i'm just not sure the NA miata is the route i'd want to take though.
