What have you done to your MSP today?

Neah, I've never touched the coolant hard lines. Last time the turbo was off was the 14th when I had to replace the manifold to turbo gasket, and I've put 350+ miles on it since then (i commute the car 80 miles a day). I can already see its the copper washer that just gave up.

But oh well. Its just a car, they're all pains in the ass.

Atleast I got a cool picture of it in my driveway...

Drove up to my flight school to meet with the Chief Flight Instructor. I pull up, back the car in and get out, wearing my brand new >> pilot's uniform << with my cool pilot shades on. I've never felt cooler in my life... hehe

My image is complete!

took off the front bumper to find out the body shop cut some corners. They only used one bolt per side for the fenders leading to my bumper sag issue. Still glad I got in the GB for the bracket to fix the sag. I broke the two bottom bolts underneath the car for the bumper. Removed the hot pipe and the wimpy horn. Then loosened some bolts on the exhaust mani and PB blasted more bolts to let them soak overnight since I have to go to work. No pics today for got my camera.

what are you replacing horn with? I want to try and fit a boat horn in my msp

Anyone have a link or know where the how to is to make your own egr pipe with home depo stuff is? I saw it at one time and now I can't find it

You should be able to change said copper rings without removing the turbo...

I need to replace the manifold to turbo gasket, so taking it out is the best option. Contemplating sending the turbo to Blouch Turbo to have the internals checked, rebalanced, housings ported and polished, and new seals installed.

oh ok i thought you were just changing the coolant gaskets. let us know ow it goes on the turbo if you do it.

and for everyone else. what year is the oldest car i can get a 2.0 fsde out of? the local junkyard has a few 2.0l 2000-2001 626s... will one of those swap in? obviously would have to move some stuff over.

Pulled the turbo off. Takes all of 15 minutes. lol

Went around town to find 2 copper washers... no dice.
Actually had a woman at O'Reily's ask me "Whats a turbocharger? Is that part of the brakes, like in the master cylinder"?
I swear to god I'll never hit a woman, but this dumb b**** was cutting it close.

Oh well, call the dealer in the morning and order them.

I believe I used about 5 quarts of gear oil when I changed it a couple months ago.

oh and I got my medieval trans and rear mounts installed! Vibration is definitely noticeable now, but damn does it shift smooth. Once I get my replacement turbo from 2.0t03speed my msp will be ready for more powa.

Trans holds 2.7-3 quarts. I also replaced my trans and rear mounts and the vibes are ridiculous. I want to loosen the bolts on the mounts as I may have over tightened them but the car shakes way more than I am comfortable with. Shifting and driving is smooth aside from the bad NVH.

Also the reverse lights stopped working, add that to the list of things I have to fix.
