Nocturnalspeed's Welcome & Build Thread

Thanks man ^

Just got a check engine light a couple hours ago. My brother and I think it's the 02 sensor, since everything seems fine with the car, but it's reading very LEAN when at idle (17.6,18.5 then creeps back up to 14.8 and holds). Going to take it to Autozone tomorrow and hope it's nothing serious. Was able to drive it all the way to my house fine, so that's a good sign.

Checked it out, and its the injectors not properly seated/sealed causing a minor fuel leak from the upper o-ring. I'm having David shut his car down for a couple weeks, until the new fuel rail and injectors come in. The location of the factory FPR is a problem with the 505 intake manifold causing the injectors to sit at an angle.

This is how you fix the issue with Injectors, Fuel rail and oem FPR. I had to do this to fully fix the problem, hope this helps for you guys. i think im the only person that have done these modifications to propertly installed aftermarket fuel rail with aftermaket injectors with aftermarket FPR to these 505zoom IMs

This is What it looked like when i tried to install my Perrin Fuel Rail along with aftermarket Injectors to 505zoom IM.

Nothing Lined up plus i wasnt able to install my OEM FPR forced me to go with aftermarket external one.

This is what i did to fix the issue but still needed to use an External FPR.

After cutting the 505zoom Brackets i need it to see how the hell i was going to make new ones to hold tight my aftermarket injectors to perrin and to IM and the pictures above shows how i did the brackets and this pictures will show how it looks everything mounted. I was also forced to remove the FPR flange from the perrin fuel rail and cap it.

I was also able to use the OEM Black Plastic Spacers and now the rail sits perfect, fits perfect, the injectors now seals perfect. This have to be done if you are using aftermarket injectors since most of them are longer. If they are longer you cant use the OEM FPR plus it will change the angle of the Injectors and fuel rail causing not to line up to the 505zoom brackets leading you not to be able to install it correctly.

now as for the External Fuel pressure regulator, ive remove the Canister can and placed my FPR there extreme close to the IM to make the vaccum hose as short as possible and works damn great this is how it looks like..

This is the type of External FPR i used.

Hope this info is helpfull to you guys...

I would love to do a write up or a how to but i trully believe a picture is louder and more helpfull than 1 thousand words, you will understand what and how to do it to fix these little issues caused by the aftermarket injectors being longer than oem causing everything to not line up. It happened to me to but with RC injectors, well either way you get an idea how to fix it or to get an idea to do it on your own way.

Thanx for the pics.

I may need to fab up new brackets like you did to bolt down the fuel rail. We didn't want to convert/modify the perrin fuel rail, so we purchased a different one with an Aeromotive external FPR, should be in next week sometime.

not a problem thats what we are all here for. As for modifying the Perrin its was easy, you just pull the flange up since it seals to the rail with a rubber O ring and just cap it and thats it. But if you guys went another route its also great what it matters is to fix things up and make them to work.. if you guys need anything else hit me up..

We used the stock injectors which will sit the same way as they are now using the Perrin fuel rail. We could have did exactly what 505 did, but I personally didn't want to have them the way they were and the angle the injectors would be sitting at. I'm EXTREMELY picky when it comes to putting s*** on my car (just ask my brother). I want it done right the first time and if I need go another route, so be it. One of my injectors almost came off the fuel rail this past week which was the reason my car ran lean and through a check engine light. It freaked the hell out of me. I don't want to have to worry about that bull s*** happening again.

Thanks Miguel for the help and all, but I just went ahead and purchased the Jay Racing Fuel Rail set up he had going on.

dude i have no idea why you guys are having so mani problems with the perrin rail this thing was designed around putting a perrin rail on

It's your gain and my lose bro! :)

I just want to get this s*** done with and tuned already. I been getting a little frustrated on how long everything's been taking.

It isnt the Perrin rail, its where the location of the factory FPR sits and how close the plenum of the intake mani is. With how it is, the injectors sit at an awkard angle in the intake mani flange (which is why a donut style O-ring is needed on the bottom of the injectors to keep it sealed).

Once you take away the factory FPR, it should sit straight and flush like this.....

505zoomIM10-1.jpg

....and as you can see, there is no room for the FPR to fit back where it's suppose to be. So we're going with an external Aeromotive FPR away from the fuel rail.

I forgot to mention Im Running BOSCH KE Jektronic Porsche Donut Style Injectors O rings in order to seal propertly like you are saying...

^Its already sold. Perrin may still have some bare rails left (minus the stainless lines), give em a call.

perrin dosent have any left i allready talked to them when trying to get fittings for the rail i bought from you. But SU has one new in the box that has the scratches on it and they want 200 for it

Screw that ryan! Get you're own lines and fittings from jegs or summit, basically where I purchased all my braided lines and AN fittings from. You're going to upgrade to the GT28RS and if you end up buying my E6X it will be worth it.
My feed and return line setup works great, I can take some pictures for you tomorrow

Am I the only one disgusted by the turbo flange on that Steedspeed manifold? That is a complete mismatch from what I see in the pics and will surely cause turbulence and a lack of spool. Hate to talk bad about somebody's very taste full project but the fact that they get away with that is beyond me.

Your saying the SteedSpeed is a sour eye to everything else I have? It's just a temporary manifold that was available at the time. I didn't want anything to crazy since I plan on getting a custom setup in the future... or you are just commenting on the "Manifold" itself...

The fact that SIGNATURESOUND is putting down 400whp daily on it, leaves me in a peaceful state of mind.
