The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I dunno, I wasn't very impressed today, but it was still okay. But I woulda been pissed if I had to pay.

Turbo MR2 = car done right (minus the head gaskets that blow constantly). They need more cars like that, light, small, fun to drive and don't give a fizzle.

The rep and Honda was a douche. He got mad when I asked him why they screwed up the CRZ with the hybrid stuff. And got mad when I told him that the CRX beat the CRZ in the comparo and said it was because it was so much lighter. So I asked him why the new one was so heavy, and he said the retard gov. mandates about the crash test junk. Then he got super pissed when I asked him if I could get it without that stuff.

My favorite stuff was probably the Ford F750 dump truck, the feature of the "Sportsman package" or whatever on the Dodge trucks where you can actually put guns in the back, the FJ Cruiser, Xterra, Fit and the Element. I dunno, I'm really losing my interest in cars.

I'm thinking down the road I'm gonna get rid of the 626 for an FJ or Xterra and do a turbo Miata project. I dunno, cars aren't really doing it for me anymore. I used to be so into the thought of racing, but it's kind of lost its appeal before I even got to do it.

That sucks. I enjoyed the show. It's better than any Columbus show I have ever been to. They always have decent concepts and the ride and drives.

The Columbus show is only good if you are shopping for a car and have no clue what you want. Or to kill time when you have free tickets

Very true. Sadly, I'll be working down there for a few hours this year. :(

that sucks...i went to the cleveland one like 3 years ago and i hated it. i had such high expectations of seeing cool stuff, but i thought it was super lame and i've been determined to go to a different car show where you actually get to see concept carts, etc...like detroit or la or wherever they reveal that stuff

i also want to just go to sema....f*ck regular car shows!

found it funny :)

Good news I found a set of Enkies on craigslist (Mansfield). Bad news I have no clue how to contact the seller to get more info. I personally am computer stupid so I will have to see if Jen knows what to do. LOL at myself. For $400 I would be dumb not to try to find out about them.

You should be able to email them with a link at the top of the ad

gonna order the last of my stuff for my build in the morning. can't wait to get to work either this week or next.

I want to come home.... I'm tired of Canada. It rains, it's cold , the people talk funny, and everything is too damned expensive (even after the currency conversion)

however, the women are really cute but I seem to be pulling a Phen. >=/

Larry, PM the link and I'll email him for you if you like.

I am not so sure about those wheels. I did some research and from what I could find they are discontinued (no biggie). I did however find them on a few sights for around $140/wheel new and this person wants $400. Besides I would want to see them on my car first. Enkei RS7's BTW. Not a bad looking wheel and only 18Lbs. I think $400 is too much but really don't know what to offer instead.

My trip to Canada, aka America's Hat, so far:

Day One:

Arrived at the airport and waited in line through customs for about an hour and half. Smart phone ftw on free airport wireless. Score! The scenery in the airport is nice. Made it to customs to have the lady give me a ration of crap because I'm here for 17 days for training on a new product. Got to the hotel in North Vancouver.. Pretty nice place with an awesome view and a bar next door.

Day two:

Woke up at 4am local time due to jet lag. Work doesn't start for another three hours. Yeeehaw. After work, went to downtown Vancouver to wander around and see some sights. Found a district where Phen would fit in perfect. Oh snap!

Day Three:

Woke up around 4:30am local time... Damn jet lag again! After work I took a hike up a mountain side since the weather was nice. What a view and it made me wish I had brought my camera. :(

Day Four:

Sick day. =/ Stayed in the hotel all day. Since it is Friday, my friend from the Atlanta office who is here with me wanted to go out to the bar Friday night. LOTS and LOTS of cute women at the bar. Pretty happening place for a hotel bar/pub. I can't remember the last half of the night and the curse of Phen hit me.

Day Five and Six:

Recovered from Day Four.

Day Seven (Today):

Somewhat normal wake up... 5:30am with the Alarm set for 6am. My buddy and I go to get breakfast and recount the poor decision of Friday night. Some girl at McDonald's is loudly asking a gay guy what it's like to have sex at 6:30 in the effing morning. Just what I want to hear while eating a breakfast burrito. Yum! Since the weather is nice today and it's supposed to be crap for the rest of the time here, I'm going back to downtown Vancouver after work to grab a beer at a hole in the wall pub/bar.

Will update as things progress.

^ your in Canadialand eh... oh and its not a phen curse in canada, they just dont like skinny bald headed americans, they like a big burly hairy guy to keep em warm in the middle of winter eh... lol
