On another note - On a 1.6 crop sensor (Nikon D200) should I go for a 35mm f1.8 or 50mm f1.8, still cant decide?

50mm on a crop sensor is about 80mm on a FF sensor, which is the "ideal portrait focal length."

1/250th can only go so fast. He was shaking too fast.

and these are shots for a special effects makeup class for the students. I like the claw marks on the girl.

I like the 35, the extra room seemed nicer to me...
