Help with shifting please!

This is driving me nuts (bang)i got a 2011 speed 3 and i can drive manual im decent at it been driving stick for only 3 months tho i recently got my speed 3 bout 1 month ago i can shift fine from 1-2 but when i go from 2-3rd gear i always get a nudge sometimes from 3-4th too and i just needa knw what i may be doing wrong? i tried raising the rpms and shifting and letting of the clutch slowly but i always seem to get this nudge its not a grind nothing just this nudge that i get sometimes and sometimes i dont its inconsistent and i knw its me! please help :/!!!

i think you just need to get to know ur gears more, not so quick on letting up the clutch, 2-3 normally to be smooth, its at 20mph, i find 3-4 at 30ish.unless ur booting it

ok one other thing to whom may answer me breaking in the car and the clutch like i am with the nudging im not beating on the car or anything just geting these nudges is it hurting the transmission in anyway possible?

I think the rear engine mount is for stopping wheel hop when you are booting the arse out the car,

tbh, since you are not springing, i am dont think it will cure the nudging.

update: i honestly think i just got a let off clutch slower slowweerr i mean iom already letting it of slow enuff... but cuz like i said sumtimes it does it sumtimes it doesnt i just hope its not hurting the tranny :/

yeah, i thought so, just need to get to know ur car, i have manuals all my life and this is the noticist gear box i have had (small throats), it is a big old engine in a little car.

u wont kill the tranny, ur not hearing the grindng of gears...

just enjoy the feel of a real car with gears!!!

My kid says that you are granny shifting, get the RPMs up between 4 and 5K and get after it. Don't listen to Peavey, this car wants to move not pussy down the road, at 30 mph I am thinking about 3rd gear, but not real hard.

thats just not nice!

but true, u get a nice smooth ride out of granny shifting and no nudging but u also get a nice smooth ride out 4-5k and a few more tickets from old bill

BUT!

boot the arse out of it, its got a god damn turbo for a reason!

he had a issue with being new to manuals, so i was going thru the baby steps first till his was comfy, now more knowing that Dacosta13 wont kill his tranny, he can come kill the horses...

tbh, stick on a CAI then u wont be able to granny shift for the life of you.

as i said.

no problem.

i was actually bouncing around the forums and found a thread about your very issue and that the clutch in hte ms3 is very like what you have reported, (alias i forgot to link it here).

so its a common problem, so dont worry about it, just enjoy!!

You might be letting the clutch out wen your rpm is less than what the gear your shifting into needs. For example I shift my 5spd at 3k rpm. The gear after is usually 500-1k rpm less than 3k. You gotta find the right shift point for a smooth shift AND the right shift speed (how fast you move the shifter) so you don't get the nudge or grinding of the solenoids.

And btw all of this info is the same wen downshifting, or rev matching or heel-toe shifting. Just the opposite.
