i need another front differential..from what i was told, there really expensive.anything aftermarket out there? sad day.

Uhhh.....

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm nearly 100% certain that this car does not have a front diff. It has the transaxle (which drives the front wheels), the transfer case, and the rear diff

Oh ok. Well im going by what the guy said. Im guessin its the transaxle then. Its in the front next to tranny. Drained the fluid and it was all silver and pieces on metal everywhere. I see if i pull the ebrake up one click, all the noise and vibrations calm down a bit. Is it ok to drive like that? Can someone explain this?

Sounds like the transaxle. There is a switch in the e-brake assy that detects any time it is pulled at all and disengages the rear wheels. I supose you can drive it like that, but you are going to make things worse and could damage the trans. I would keep the e-brake up one click I guess. Actually I would not drive the car.

I may be wrong (probably am, actually), but this sounds more like a PTO failure than the transaxle.

isnt the transaxle...and transmission the same thing?

in this case, i think the OP is talking about the transfer case, since he said it was next to the tranny..
but i dont drive a ms6, just putting my opinion out there

The car DOES have a front Diff, not a limited slip like the rear, but yes, a Regular Open Diff as all cars need a Diff on there drive wheels

The Tranfer case is mounted to the trans and sits just behind it, before the firewall, What are the symptoms of the problem exactly?

i also blew a transfer case. i'm not sure what happened because i never abuse the car. I was driving home one night and it started knocking under the car and i did lift the handbrake to the 1st notch to see if it helped and most of the noise went away but it still sounded pretty bad.

i had the car towed the next day to the dealer and they replaced it. i'm not sure how hard it is to get a transfer case replaced under warranty but they didn't really ask any questions. they said they were going to open it and call me back to say if it's covered or not and it was. I saw the bill on the girl's computer when i picked up the car and it was around 3500$ for parts/labor. they also fixed some leaks in the rear diff that i didnt know i had.

Yeah, sounds like the PTO/TC (transfer case/power take off) is AFU. You can drive the car, BUT I recommend you disconnect and remove the drive shaft until you can replace the PTO. You will be FWD only, but no big deal...
