I've got 3 or 4 on mine... Forget how many to be honest, but I did it after I switched from a vented hood to oem style. I've heard arguments on both sides for whether it actually helps reduce temps or not. I've seen tests that show no reduction in temps at all. Apparently, car manufacturers do a lot of enginering r&d when they build these things... lol

idk know about the whole performance side of the spaced hood,
i just think it looks more aggresive to be honest
and
more aggresive = more cool

Oldie but had spacer's on my hood way back kinda grew out of it tho.

newb... lol jk

all u do is put a couple of washers between your hood and the hood mounts
put them on the 12mm bolt closest to the windshield between the mount and hood.... all sandwich like
make sure u loosen the other bolts tho (the ones that let u slide your hood on and off with out having to take them out)
then tighten it all up

thats what i did..
but i dont really see any other way

its a 25 cent mod

You should really put spacers on all 4 bolts. Couldn't be a good idea to only do the back two, unless you like putting strain on the bolts holding your hood on...

yea when i looked into it, i was going to try and go for spacers and extended bolts, but if all you guys are saying that i just need to stuff washers....i may try that.

Just depends how high you want it to sit... I barely have mine spaced at all, (4 washers), so the stock bolts were plenty long enough. But if you go with legit big spacers, you may well need extended bolts.

i just figured it would bend the hood less
and keep it more angled

but i see your point

I'd have to look, but IIRC, I used 4 spacers on the bolts closest to the windshield & 3 on the bolts farther from the windshield. Although looking back, it seems to me that both bolts should be equally spaced, since they are aligned equally stock; aka without any spacers... Offsetting them seemed to make sense at the time, tho...

I'll be re-clearing the hood this spring, so I'll probably play with the spacing again when I re-install it then.

God I wish that wasn't the case. Ideas of aggressiveness that are being passed from manufacturer to manufacturer by trendy fads makes my head hurt.

oh heavens no
i hate misaligned body panels...seriously... i do
i just think that the angle hood makes it look "beefier"
idk what else to say about it

Okay fair enough, I just can't get passed the gap when I see a spaced hood.
Anyhoo to get back on topic.
