AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

Ok I finally got this POS ancient Laptop cleaned up and quicker to load. So I connected it up to the car and here are what my setting are. Please feel free to chime in and let me know where and what I should change. It always idles like crap in idle it idles spot on with the SS removed from the car. The midpipe should be back on the car with the wideband installed next week. POPE just shipped it back to me today after installing a Flex pipe so it seals on the 3" DP
Connect to ECU is on Com5
UnderOPTIONS
system settings:
Display mode is: Gauge Pressure
Application: Additional injector controller
Engine settings
Cylinders: 4 Cyclinders
Engine type: 4 stroke
Output settings
PWM mode: Pressure 0 to 30 psi /3 vdc FS
Output A mode: Aux Fuel Pump with abortive start time
Output B mode: Over Pressure
Output C mode: inj A and B over /latched
Over RPM: 6000
Over Pressure: 17
Over inj %: 90
Fuel Pump start pressure PSI: -1
Fuel Pump Run Time: 3
Fuel Pump Start up time: 120
Aux input settings
Aux input A
Coefficient a: 0
Coefficient b: 1
Name: Aux A
Aux input B
Coefficient a: 0
Coefficient b: 1
Name: Aux B
Aux input C
Coeffient a: 0
Coeffient b: 1
Name: Aux C
Aux input D
Coeffient a: 0
Coeffient b: 1
Name: Aux D

On the Fuel Maps:
the top Corner says 8.2% and it starts at -4PSI increasing .5 PSI through 26PSI
RPMs start at 500 RPM to 8000 RPM
For the Cells that matter to me 8.5 psi and down all the cells are showing 9.9
They turn green at 5500 RPM then red at 6500 RPM.
7500 RPM the cells show 10
That is is my Map A which is what the car is running
Map B everything shows 0

So who knows where I can make some chages to have it run better.
I'll see what the AFRS show once I get the wideband in next week.

I don't know if your setup is different but your system settings don't sound right. It should be vacuum/pressure and programmable signal calibrator or whatever the other option is besides additional injector. Also, you aren't running a lot of boost so your overpressure should be somewhere around -1 to 1.

yea, it shouldnt be additional injector controller, change that one
and honestly, the over pressure setting doesnt mean anything,
if you changed cells starting in vac all the way to your max boost, it'll adjust the fuel anyways
even if the overpressure is set to 17

Does anyone know what color wire I would have to unplug to completely disable the ssafc? I think its causing cel similar to zuku. It's not permanent just for when I have to do emissions s***.

I thought overpressure was were the SSAFC forced open loop? Any adjustment before the overpressure the ECU would learn around.

I don't think there is just one wire that will disable it. You can load a map with all 10's so it is 'inactive' or you can fully uninstall it.

output b is the o2 sensor voltage clamp to keep the ECU from adjusting the tune. if you want to tune all of boost, set output b to over pressure, then in pressure set it to 0.1 psi or 1psi. if you wanna tune above say 5 psi, set it to something like 4.8psi.

the correct setting are in red.

also note my post about output b settings... MAP A is for fuel, a value of 10 does not modify the signal (stock). values less than 10 are leaner, values over 10 are richer. MAP B is for timing retard. a value of 0 does not modify the signal (stock), anything over 0 will retard stock timing by that value.

Thanks Cougar I just made those changes. Should I reset the ecu? I see there is an option on the main screen to reset ECU and I wasn't sure if that meant The SSAFC or the main Mazda ECU?? I'm guessing if it means reset the Main Mazda ECU then The CEL would go away and anything it's learned from the bad tune would be overridden as well.

The "Reset ECU" button in the R4 software resets the splitsecond. i can't remember if it wipes everything or just reboots it. i sometimes did it right before i flashed a new map.

disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few minutes to reset the FACTORY ECU and clear any DTCs. now that the split second is setup right, you shouldn't get any O2 sensor DTCs while in boost.

I didn't reset the ECU but the CEL went away. That CEL has been on for over a year!!! Thank you for the help!!!!!

disconnecting the battery doesn't do anything to the SSAFC. I have disconnnected my battery multiple times to do work and each time, the AFC was not affected at all. The map was still loaded. If the AFC was reset every time you disconnected your battery, then a mystery would arise as to why PG was able to sell them with the preloaded map.

he means clicking the RESET ECU button in the R4 software

just a thought.,

yeah i was responding to the question asked about the "reset ECU" in the R4 software. And telling him how to reset the factory ECU.

if disconnecting the battery reset the split second, then it would reset everytime you turned the ign key off.

Edited that post to make it more clear

I tried to search but found nothing...how do I load a map from the map library on to the R4 to put it on the ssafc?

I tired a cut/paste drag/drop. Couldnt get anything to work...help please

I need to tune my car on the SSAFV V1. I am getting really lean up top and I also get fuel cut if its around 40 deg out side.

you download the file, put it on a folder somewhere on your desktop for easy access, then close everything out
open up the R4 software, click new customer, the go back to the desktop in the box that pops up, open the file you just downloaded
then connect with the ECU (key on, engine off) , click view fuel map on the R4 software, and hit write to ECU in the top left corner
wait for it to write then turn the key off for like 30 seconds before you start it again, or you'll get a CEL
