Stability and Traction Control in Mazda3 i Touring

I test drove a 2010 Mazda3 i Touring yesterday and from what I've read, that trim level should come with stability and traction control standard. However, when I drove the car, I did not notice the DSC off switch or an indicator light that matched the one in the owner's manual.

The car was originally from a rental agency, is it possible that the car was built with DSC and not given the option of an 'off' switch or an indicator light? I really want this car but not if it doesn't have the DSC.

I drove a 2010 rental and it had the dsc switch...I cant remember clearly because im an idiot but I believe it was around the same spot as the old 3's (above your left knee on the dash)... I believe there are bottom of the barrel 3i's that have hubcaps that dont have the dsc\stability control, but for a touring I would think its def standard...hopefully youre just not seeing it.

Thanks fam. So, is it safe to say that if a 3i doesn't have the DSC off switch on the left hand side, it definitely doesn't have DSC?

Ask on the 2010 forum and you could know for sure...you're on the 04 to 09 thread I think

Actually, this still helps. The other 3 I drove was an 09. Again, the dealership had it listed as an i Touring and yet again the DSC off switch was missing on the left hand side. They told me any trim level after 08 that came with DSC standard didn't have an off switch. Sounds fishy to me.

I just bought 2010 i Sport and it has the DSC switch. However, I don't think it should be a deciding factor in purchase. In my previous Jetta 24VR6 and '08 WRX the first thing I did after starting the car was turn those stupid intrusive nannies off (ESP for VW, VDC for Subaru). If anything, try to get a few bucks knocked off :D
