Heated side mirrors?

Hi everyone, new 2010 CX-9 GT w/ Nav owner here. I've searched the Owner's Manual and these forums and can't seem to find any info on the heated side mirrors that are mentioned in the brochure and the vehicle sticker?

Do they automatically turn on when you turn on the rear defroster?

EDIT: okay newbie mistake, I just found my answer in the defroster section (p5-69) since the feature is called Mirror Defroster.

I think for 2010 the GT has the heated side mirrors. But my 2009 GT does not have this fuction (Standard on Touring, optional on Sport), weird?

I doubt that. My '08 GT has heated outside mirrors.

Even my previous '07 Touring also has heated outside mirrors.

I agree. They mirrors are heated. I just don't know what it takes to turn them on but they do appear to work in my 08

Usually the heated side mirrors are activated by the windshield defroster/defogger.
Not really sure about CX9. Should be the same.

I have not test my side mirrors with the rear defroster. But the pdf file above clearly states the heated side mirrors are not available on 2009 CX-9 GT...

The side mirrors are heated on the GT.
I have taken the mirror part off the assembly.
There is a pair of wires connected to the mirror (for heating purpose, of course).
The PDF does not mention it due to writing space.

Hi,
I wonder if I could buy the heated mirror (glass bit) and fit it to my non-heated CX9 ??

Is the wiring in the car already - i.e. just a matter of finding leads and plugging them in to the new mirror ?

I would guess that's a misprint.
