Well last years event seemed to be a good one, and it seems like there is enough interest to do it again this year...
as we did last year this will be a run on Rt. 30 between Chambersburg and Breezewood

Chambersburg meeting spot is in the new shopping plaza off Walker Rd (exit 17 on I-81).
address - 901 Norland Ave., Chambersburg PA
meet at 10, we roll out at 10:30

the second meeting place is in the McDonalds parking lot in Breezewood off the PA Turnpike (exit 161 on PA Turnpike)
address - 100 S. Breezewood Rd., Breezewood PA
the group coming from Chambersburg will be there around 12 (noon)

the majority of us will be meeting in Chambersburg and cruising out to Breezewood where we will be meeting up with some of the Ohio and Pitt guys.

At this point we will start out on our way back towards Cowans Gap. there are a few lights in Breezewood and if the group gets split up just continue on Rt. 30 and there is a part where it becomes 2 lanes, and we will pull off and wait there for the group. if you have a walkie talkie bring it as they come in handy when dealing with a cruise and a large group.

the drive from Chambersburg to Breezewood is around 40 miles, and then back to Cowans Gap State Park will be approximately 25, so the cruise will be around 65ish miles

if any of you are interested in camping out at the park that weekend im sure we can arrange that as well (im game to go camping)

I'd probably be down for this.

Either date in October works for me, I can't do the 25th of September.

I have faith in the motor, not so much the vinyl siding... haha

For us Akron guys, the drive to Breezewood is about 2 hours or so doing about 75mph. So it's not bad at all. I used to make the drive to DC every other weekend. The drive to Breezewood is actually pretty fun on the 76 Turnpike.

2 hours isn't a bad drive at all. I'm not sure what my schedule is like yet, but typically I can request Saturdays off.

if you guys do come out we can just meet you right off the turnpike and trust me the run from breezewood to the place where the cook out is at, well thats a BLAST...

Not sure if I could make this but the later the better. When the leaves start to change it'll be a much better time to cruise.

we did it last year on October 2nd and the leaves were AMAZING... i grew up in the chambersburg area and late september/early october is when the colors seem to be at their peak...

October 9th i'd say. cause gives me a chance to get my car running with the larger turbo :D hahaha

with the other forums ive posted on

only after one day its looking like it will be the 9th already, ill let it go for another couple days to see if anything changes... if not then ill make the 9th the official date

Oh, I'm pretty sure it's aluminum siding, in which case it can't rust, so esallgood! I might have to put some 10W-40 in there, though. I dunno about 2 hours at 4k+ rpms.. That 4.3 gear ratio makes the revs pretty high for highway crusing... (naughty)

And I dunno if I can keep my foot out of it for 2 hours, so that just adds to it, haha!

The 25th is our anniversary, so that is not an option for us, as the 24th is my birthday...won't be in the best of shape on those two days. Either Octpber date is fine with us.

I'm still down for this, we just need to decide on the date. Then I can request a couple days off.

with all the response on this forum and the other forum i posted it up on it looks like October 9th is going to be the day of the meet...

can a mod please change the title to say "Second annual PA mountain cruise/cookout, Oct. 9"

as well as lock the voting for me, thanks :)

Ok Oct 9th it is...I requested that day off so I should be there if nothing important comes up.

Hey Everyone. PrinceValorum mentioned this meet to me on Mazda626.net and I'm definitely interested. I hope it's okay if I tag along.
