The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

so your saying your buddy has a 2001ish 3.8 v6 mustang?? hahaha

whitney (my NA 3) would LOVE to eat that car for a snack haha

lol, my N/A fs-de would love to eat it for a snack, in a straight line even. And for those unaware, that's a mo-f'in INSULT. (lol2)

This is the greatest thread ever. I have to refrain from simply posting "Hahahaha!" all the time. (friday)

im positive i could take that stang in a straight line, quick searches and stock ones run around mid to high 16's and with just an intake and "loud exhaust" i doubt its going to be a WHOLE lot faster than that.

my buddy rob (coondogg) ran like a 15.8 in his 3 last year and hes got less power than i do so id feel good about my chances... haha

Mustang GT's w/ Very nice grumbly exhausts (so I assume lightly modded) barely pull on me 0-60. V6 stangs are slow as balls. nuff said, lol.

i had a 99 gt, it sucked. could not turn worth a crap. best quarter mile was 13.9x pretty sure my msp could at least come close and definatly out corner it

Ya the Mustang went through a rough patch as far as performance back then. Today, the 2011 V6 Mustang is faster than my MS3... only in a straight line (glare)

I used to play with pre 05 GT's in my Civic. I'd hang with them pretty well if I didn't pass them. The MSM... now that eats my buddy's 06 GT like nobody's business. I have the time slips from Dragway 42 to prove it. 13.73 vs his 14.55, and I was spinning off the line.

Not bad for only 167 whp eh? (Soon to change. Mwahahahahahaha)

Ya, 98-2000 Mustangs were the shittiest mustangs of all time. 2001-2004 got a little better, and the new ones are pretty decent. The new GT's pull pretty hard stock.

Ya know, even if they did have crap horsepower, I'd still rock a Fox Body. My dream Fox Body is the SVO though...

That's a pretty nice looking 84. Is it still around?

Here's my cousin's 88 (i think). He's had it since we were in highschool. Sounds good, drives good... just isn't very fast.

DOUBLE POST TO REACH 600 FTW!!!!

SVO would be very nice...but my gramps bought me the 1984 mustang when I was 13 for $800....I then picked up a second junk (a 1986) one for $200 and combined them to form one working car. Here are some pics:

Two (well, technically four) cars combined into one: 1984 body and everything else /1986 hood and engine / 1991 doors / 1970 OEM Mach 1 hoodscoop (I paid a guy 10 bucks and threw it on for looks and the neatness fact that it came off an original Mach 1 EDIT: oh yeah, the spoiler is off of a 90's mercury sable...found it at a junkyard and thought it blended in nicely, looking sporty without being obnoxious....

All work done myself with the help of my grampa, uncle, dad, and neighbor in our barn, including bodywork and paint. pulled the engine, everything...took over 3 years to complete (hence why I bought it at age 13). Sure it wasn't anything special or fast, but no kid needs a fast car and I sure appreciated all the hard work. It makes me miss that car a lot, knowing how much time and effort I put into it. Anyways, I sold it to my GF's sister after high school--she drove it through high school and sold it to a family friend who restored it even further and still drives it on Sundays currently! Sorry for the story, I just wanted to share. Don't hate

Dude, I love the story! A lot of my friends were Mustang guys, so I've been around them a lot. In fact, I may have one of my own one day. Problem is... I'd totally redo it to the point where it'd be a dedicated track beast... but still, it's a Mustang, right?

Yeah a fox body mustang would be a fun track car, but probably not the most cost-effective option.

You gotta go 87-93... better looks, more options for upgrades, everything... my 84 was too old and had no aftermarket (and I'm saying if it were 5.0L, no parts!)

Yeah. That's probably what I'd do. And you know me... I'd instantly look for the SVT Cobra R (the first one) and go with that and be happy. But in reality, a notchback, 5.0, and 2 grand is all I'd need to have a little beast.

Yeah, I wish mine was a 5.0 back then...I vote for hatch though, just like the look better. Probably costs more... not SVT Cobra R more though!

Since you got me reminiscing, I now remember how even my 3.8 v6 had that infamous Mustang Shake...ya know, where the entire car just sits at idle and rumbles? It seems so beastly! Not until I installed my RMM in the MS3 does it even remotely shake at idle or when hitting the gas as much as my lil 121hp stang did. I loved it. I even had a Magnaflow muffler added onto the stock exhaust, which gave it a deeper, sweeter note that almost was 5.0-ish....man

Oh well, I'm out to put the hubcaps back on Justine (ticklemepink)'s Rio...whoop whoop.. you'll have to see these things....I repainted them all nice for her....I'll post pics!

Do it up!

Here's my cousin's 5.0 terrorizing the neighborhood. *I don't condone such actions, but in a country town with no cops...**** it.

He was pissed when he put those tires on because he could only ever get a little 1 wheel burnout. Before the good tires, we would sit there and just make pretty white smoke clouds in abandoned parking lots.
