Any photographers in here?

heheheheeeee this is funny. I'm offering advise, he's telling me to ride away on my high horse, and I'm the a-hole...

IAMHOLLYWOOD: I can't see your pic... probably better that way lol ;) jkjk

if you want to hate on my HDR, you can do so here:

probably the first HDR I ever made.

My buddy and I drove to NW Washington D.C. this weekend to take some pics of his Supra. I thought I'd share a couple of HDR photos that I generated from the shoot:

What you could do to tone it down a bit is to put another layer of the photo on top, in a correct exposure and mask the areas that are correct then process the rest of the photo. Just to kinda mix the hdr w/ a more realistic photo. Experiment w/ the layers. Don't just put the pics in photomatix then say it's finished. There's a lot more to processing hdr's than just that. Anyways..I would've loved to see a decent front shot of the car.

hm, interesting. The photo looks slightly "cool" also... not sure why they turned so yellow. Must be the color boosting.

may have been, that was one of the last photos ive been able to make turn out in details enhancer in photomatrix. now whenever i edit the photo the preview looks totally different with shadows light or dark in different areas that werent in the preview. i just use the tone compressor now.

Just to get the topic on the right direction, they're nothing special. Lately I'm just shooting to take my mind off other stuff.

I like this one. It's like the plane is getting back into commission after being unused in a long time.

I haven't tried layering an HDR photo and a single correctly exposed photo, but that sounds like a good suggestion. I'll see if Photomatix can accommodate my doing that.

I should have a decent front end shot to contribute too.

I really didn't have a problem with your criticism. It's more that you came off as condescending (particularly, in your second post.) I'm learning like many in this thread, and I'm careful to ensure my posts don't come with a "my photos are the s***" attitude.

I see that some of the more frequent posters have had far more experience than I, and I'm not here to have a pissing contest with anyone. I just didn't agree with your delivery (a matter of perception, I suppose.)

I'll leave it at that. No hard feelings.

With some of the criticism provided in mind, here's some reworked versions of my original posting. All feedback welcome.

I kind of liked the originals better. Yeah, they stick out like a soar thumb, but I kind of like the "look at me, look at me" effect. The "corrected" version looks good as well but just seems kind of "meh" to me.

Also....shoot so you're reflection isn't right in the middle of the pic =)

I like the more cartoony building and the less cartoony car. If I were you, I'd lay a normal layer over the HDR layer and mask it to make the car look more normal and the background more HDR... ish?
