Ya this, & also where is that? Behind/below the glove box? I need to pull out/inspect and clean up all my a/c & heater stuff (no heat or a/c, ftl) so I might as well do this, too...

get a hair dryer and warm up where they meet for a couple of minutes. will slide off easy

stock I would assume?.. if it's stock, just get some good work gloves, run the car a little so the plastic is warmish, and pull like crazy, that's about it.. I guess spraying a little WD40 around and getting it a little lubed up couldn't hurt either, also just work the pipe back and forth (side to side kinda) as you pull it off, should come off eventually

If it's the PITA stock one, just loosen clamp and wiggle/pull it off.

My tip: remove the end at the intercooler first. Then you have more play at the turbo end to wiggle, rock, and pull til it comes away. And yes, if its stubborn a heat gun helps.

simple solution:

grow a pair.

kidding... though for whatever reason I didn't find it that hard to remove.

i was able to get the heat sheild and o2 sensor off with out having to take off the pipe. I'll save that until i upgrade to fmic

now the question is: do i want to put on my steedspeed mani?

I had this same problem and was dreading the though of having to drill and re-tap but turns out that I could back the stud out with just my hands

That's where I lost a bolt too. Now I think mine is gone... AGAIN. I need ot pull off the heat shield and look again, but something is leaking/missing. I need to get the bolt replacement kit and install it...

I was chasing one for a while, and had a payment ready for a couple of manifolds, (even sent on one) but got beat out... so I have been waiting for it to get worse for a couple months now and it hasn't.

I'd put a new car on the "things to do on/around wedding time" list long before I'd put protege upgrades on it. WICKED RX8 I want in houston, only 11 grand.. but... its houston, and I don't have 11 grand. lol
