What have you done to your MSP today?

Received my front left spindle, hub, and axle assembly via UPS yesterday (they cut the wire for the ABS sensor, why the hell did they have to do that?). The axle nut on the assembly has two divots, so the wheel bearing has been changed at least once. Since I have no idea what condition the wheel bearing is, I ordered wheels studs, wheel bearing, and a c-clip today. I'll start taking apart the assembly today and prep it for the new wheel bearing and studs. This better be the last time I have to deal with this crap.

where did you find another c clip? mazda told me they couldnt get one for me...

and what was wrong with your stock one? i must have missed it

Back at 60k miles my wheel bearing went bad and I had an auto-x that weekend. I drove on it while it was bad, which likely messed up my hub. I've had it replaced three times since then, which points to the hub being bad. The one I replaced myself, right when it went bad, is still fine. The ABS sensor has tripped out ever since the first replacement, when they broke it and replaced it with another one. It will trip at 75mph.

Through all of this, I realized I'm better off replacing everything with new parts, which is why I am replacing the c-clip when I replace the bearing. My CV boot has a very, very small hole in it, which is why I wanted to order an axle (easier, and ended up being cheaper than replacing the boot). So, I bought a hub, axle, and spindle as one unit from a yard. I ordered the c-clip from Baggie at onlinemazdaparts.com. He'll find one and cross ship it to me.

So with my handy 12 ton press I'll have a used and hopefully in good condition hub, new OEM wheel bearing, new wheel studs, and CV boots without a hole in them in about 2 weeks time.

wow i drove on a bad wheel bearing for about 20k miles. it dint mess the hub up at all. i now a have 2 new bearings in the front. ad i also have a driver side(i think) front spindle. needs a bearing pressed in and a c clip then it will be ready to go

Pretty surprising that 20k miles on a bad wheel bearing didn't destroy the hub...

Just Curious how much that set you back. Thinkin of doing a 5 bolt swap on my
mx3.

i have an extra hub ill sell you if you need it. ill look and see which one it is.

and i was pretty suprised about the 20k miles didnt mess it up.....and that was like that when i bought it. i have no idea how long it was bad b4 i got it

I might just have tp get all the bearings hubs spindles brakes from an nfg msp sometime. Make whatever bracketry needed ha.
But migjt be too expensive to bother.

put on my trunk the other day now my cf transformation is complete!
