Talk me out of it...

Try getting Mazda to do a major repair under warranty for your MS3...

The Mustang is faster, parts are cheaper, has more potential for modding before hitting the wall, Ford will do warranty repair and not give you a hard time about mods.

The MS3 is nice, but the two cars are in totally different categories. Upgrade to the GT and enjoy it!

You have that mentality of a street ricer. Not all Mazda Dealerships are like that. You're probably one of those guy's, who mod's there cars and blow's the engine up. Then expects the dealership to replace your motor under warranty after you have removed all the aftermarket parts and put it back to stock. After they tell you no "that they won't replace the motor under warranty". You throw a hiss fit and rant how Mazda customer service sucks. People who do this, do deserve to be treated the way they do by dealerships. Only idiot's blow motors

Mustang GT 5.0 > MSP, so i could see you're point.

I'm a fan boy because i stated facts? You're probably one of those ricers who probably fall under that category along with the rest of the idiots who blow their motors then expect the dealership to replace the car under warranty. Don't get mad because i stated the truth and you know I'm right. YET I'M A FAN BOY(rofl)

It's okay you don't have to show off your massive sinister e-peen.

Is it your first car? It's okay to like your own car but to think that nothing is superior to it is crazy. But we are the ricers...

WOW thats all I can say. Some ppl on these forums are just ridiculous. Also what "facts" did you state??

Side note... What do you consider a ricer?? You seem to think everyone else is a lil ricer boy.

To me a Ricer is someone who put's all kinds of stickers, altezza tails and useless body kits with big ass wings, but i and everyone else see that all the time.

My term for ricer idiot as i was kidding, was that don't think or get it twisted when Mazda doesn't cover your "idiot" mistake by having a heavy foot. Then expect them to cover the motor under warranty. As i stated in the last posts if anyone can read. We shouldn't even be comparing these two car's period. I like the new Mustang GT 5.0! Would i trade it in if i had an Altima SE-R, Maxima 3.5SE, MS3/MS6 or TL? NO i would not, to me that is downgrading. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Now if i had a 350Z or S2000 then i could understand. Or even if the OP was starting fresh, as i said. Go for it! But he's not. I'm stating my opinion as everyone else is

Now about me stating facts? I've seen multiple people blow their modded motors on these forums. Then they go back to stock and expect the dealership to replace the motor under warranty. Sorry in my eyes, i don't see it happening that way. I honestly think that's what people get and deserve for having a heavy foot and abusing there car. I too have a lightly modded MS6. I know how to drive and treat my cars. I don't abuse and street race stop light to stop light. I've had 6-7 cars in the past 10yrs. As the MS6 being my quickest? NO! I've previously owned a 350+AWHP A4 1.8T that ran consistent 12's at the track and I've driven multiple H/C Nitrous LS1's that were either in the mid 10's or 11's.

To honestly sit here and compare the two is just observed. Choices like this are usually made by adults in the age of 24-28yr old's. But to each his own, GL and i hope he makes the right choice. This thread indeed does state "TALK ME OUT OF IT". So i am, but then again people who can't appreciate what they have go borderline and jump the gun on everything they see...

I too want everything i see, but i don't go blowing my money on stuff. I learn to appreciate what i have and what i can afford. Anyways I'm not jacking his thread anymore. Just drop it, there's no point in arguing we all agree to disagree.....

(popcorn) lol

lostviper - It comes to personal preference. If you feel that the Mustang is "must have" after driving it then you know your choice. If someone has to talk you into selling you ms3 then I say the Mustang is not a "must have" car for you and probably shouldn't do it. I personally wouldn't trade the MS3 for a Mustang, I have nothing against them, I really like them but I have seen soooo many locals and friends have many problems with them from stock to modified.

if you can afford it why not? hell i almost traded in my ms3 for a mustang but they got a 5k mark up here for the 2011 gt's. so i ended up with an evo for 4500 under msrp. it makes no sense financially but you only live once, enjoy it. (like i did)

LOL. I've never "street raced," I don't have ricey tail or big stickers and don't tend to throw "hissy fits." I've just seen guy after guy get get their warranty repairs denied for stupid stuff...we won't fix your transmission because you're running a CAI, or that test pipe caused the leaky turbo. Stupid crap like that. I've also heard many stories of guys who have had trouble getting blown engines replaced on stock MS3s. So I'm not projecting my feelings on the situation. That's the reality here. Ford will do warranty repair on heavily modded mustangs and not blink an eye. It's nice to know the dealer has your back, which isn't generally the case with Mazda.

Lol, and I don't drive a MSP.

So you don't own a ford, or an MS3 and are giving advice on both?

if by obnoxious motor, you mean the hottest sounding 6 on the planet, then sure. Otherwise, WTFBBQ
BMW's sixes sound way sweeter than Nissan's. Many magazine articles have complained about Nissan's motors sounding stressed and raucous at high rpm. "Top Gear" found it to be a nice track car, but as a DD, it was tiresome.

get the ford. wtf is wrong with you? why is this even a debate?

OP go with whichever car makes you happier. Its that simple... If you get the GT be sure to post some pics

Only idiot's blow motors

I take some issue with this. My FS exploded on an on ramp @ 1/4 throttle and 1-2 psi of boost. Does this make me an idiot, or does it mean that Mazda put a really lean spot in the stock tune that killed the engine?

There are several worthwhile replies early on 'til the thread degenerated into a squabble. As I said, the OP won't hear me talking him out of it. I also said I would probably be happy with that new six Ford has. The flip-side of that is I learned my lesson the hard way about buying the "first-year" of a model.

If I start leaning toward a new Mustang, it'll be after they've been out at least a year. I've had enough of being the guinea pig.

...Try fitting three people in the back seat of the Mustang. You can do that in an MS3. Even three adults...
Only if they're from the show "Little People". None of the adults I know would fit back there three times. I'm 6'4" - there is NO room behind the driver's seat for an adult. Besides, five adults will exceed the payload capacity of the car, I think. Heck, it's only something like 675 lbs.

Anyway, OP - if you're willing to risk the "first year" syndrome, I say go for it!

Well the speed 3 loves to explode, and really makes it difficult to make any real amount of power.

I personally don't like Mustangs, but 415 hp STOCK on a solid motor is tough to argue with.

whats?

definitely better motor and transmission than Ford!

That's the funniest thing I've read all day. The transmissions and engines on mazdas are their worst attributes (trust me on this). Far worse than what's in the new 5.0.
