What have you done to your MS3 today?

no, i like them both for different reasons! they both have their pros and cons. actually just figured out the weight today.

RX-8 with 235/40 = 50lbs each
wheel = 23lbs, tire = 27lbs

MX-5 with 215/45 = 39lbs each
wheel = 17lbs, tire = 22lbs

traction is better with the RX-8s and 235s, but my car is faster with the MX-5s and 215s. i can definitely tell the difference...

yea that's a big difference in weight between the 2 so i can see how the MX-5's would allow you to get quicker times. RX-8's would probably be better if you were puttin down some serious power to the ground though. there's a guy around here who fully built his engine and he spins all the way through 3rd gear on the stock 215's

I replaced my rear rotors and painted my calipers this weekend.

Crappy picture for now.. I am letting them cure for a day or so before I drive it out and go take pictures.

Yeah, I thought about some decals, but have decided against it. Thanks though. :)

better post that dyno when you're done! good luck!

well as it stands right now:

Cobb SRI
Cobb TIP
AP w/ Protune
___________
250whp/275wtq on a mustang, 285whp/320wtq on a DJ

since then i have added:

CP-e HPFP
Amsoil Dry Flow
Test Pipe
Cobb CBE

so hopefully some decent gains. ive heard simply switching from 1.05 to 1.07 has yielded 15-20whp on an OTS map

Thanks! Yeah.. they look really nice right now. I'll try to get some proper pictures tonight or tomorrow.

I'll have to be very attentive at keeping them clean! :)

It is quite nice on the v1.07 maps to see load in the 240's! Having no cap has helped me out tremendously. You're already pushing a lot of tq, so let's hope your bottom end is up to the challenge for more.

^^ hehe... i painted mine black which is obviously easier to maintain. but i'm amazed at how clean the rears are. it's really just the fronts(calipers/wheels) that seem to get dirty so fast.

Yeah.. I had a hell of a time prep cleaning the front calipers! Hahaha. Hopefully if I just keep an eye on everything and wipe them down every week they'll stay pretty fresh.

:) Yeah.. I just wanted to try the white. If I decide it is too much of a PITA I'll repaint. :D

If it were me, I would have painted them gloss black and put some white "mazdaspeed" decals on 'em. Just never been a fan of white calipers.
