hi everyone, just moved to san antonio from michigan. so i got some questions if anyone can help me out? gotta change my licence, registration and plates, so my questions are... do i need to be e-tested before i get everything changed? also where would the best place to get tested be? im on the nw side(heritage). thanks alot

I am at deen automotive 5555 timberhill suite #9, San Antonio Tx 78238. We do state inspections. You will need a VI-30 form for registration of an out of state car. It cost $14.50 for the inspection and $1.00 for the VI-30. We are open from Monday thru saturday 8:30-6:00. You will need a valid insurance card and drivers liscense. The fee for registration is $54.xx more or less and you need the VI-30 first. My name is Justin. You can call us at (210)680-8988 Deen Automotive.

What he (^^^) said... only ya' shoulda' moved to Austin instead. (first) (sssh)
Trying to escape the current 19% unemployment rate in Mi?
BTW: Emissions testing/sticker will drive up the cost of that inspection to over $30. And registration can be over $80 for a newer car, but it goes down with age.

Don't worry we will not do emission testing in San Antonio. We just do a visual inspection.

awesome, thanks for the help guys! so few more now... do i get the vi-30 form at the dmv? and is there going to be emissions any time soon that anyone knows of? want a kl and had it all planned out before i moved just scared of emissions when i get it done...

The inspection station has the VI-30 forms. Emission testing probably won't come to San Antonio for the next 5-10 years.

We don't actually have DMV here. It's either the DPS (Department of Public Safety,) which are also the State Police 'round these parts, or the DOT.
It's all very Texas, and a little confusing to new outsiders, of which I was one 15 yrs ago. :D

San Antonio has no emissions testing? That's just plain ole' weird... especially by today's standards.

^ so if i come by your place today or tomorrow you'll be able to take care of it all?
Yes, I will do a state inspection and issue a vi-30. Then you take that form to the tax office and get the car registered. I go on lunch between 12 and 2 so before or after that works best. Just PM me if you need anything and it will go straight to my phone.
