MSP down... this is what happens when people don't look

went back to the impound today as I forgot yet another item in the car.

I took a few minutes to get the hood open...its a little ugly in there. The FMIC pipes are crushed (the hot pipe looks like a tin can) and the engine is off center probably because the lower sub sub frame that the front MM is attached to has been displaced but at least the shifter is still freely movable.

So the car is out of the impound tomorrow morning and off to the body shop

Glad you are ok, and that you will be getting your ride fixed. This almost happened to me today. Someone switched lanes without putting on their blinkers, and almost hit me.

seriously I think that there needs to be a recurring driving test or something because sometimes I question how people even have a license

WTF...I can't believe it. Just cought this thread now..so sorry. At first glance I thought ouch but that's sooo fixable...and I'm glad to hear it will be finally. Stef and Marco will take good care of you...no offense but your car will look better than ever when its done lol.

update:

the car is at the shop and inside, i've talked to them about replacing the hood for a CF one and it seems to be good to go.

also it turns out I misinterpreted front-end...the motor is going to be pulled next week (little scary) to replace the front end (all of it), so I'm going to pull the MAM mani, IM and valve cover once its out and get them re-coated, I'll also try to get the new clutch, flywheel and pulley set I have installed while its out.

I've re-sourced the FMIC piping (thanks turbolife) so at least I don't have to worry about that anymore

The good news is that the car actually started up in its current state so there doesn't seem to be any major mechanical damage to deal with.

wow man, sucks that it happened. But the end result will fix the exhust leak, and get a bunch of stuff installed. Not to mention the rust.

spent a little time with the photochopper today and came up with a mockup for what I might like the car to look like

I've always loved the way Rush painted that hood so now that I have the chance I might do the same thing

opinions?

Damn I can't believe that isn't totalled, I wrecked my P5 not as bad as yours and they totalled it out.

sorry haven't been on in a few, the shop has the complete front-end, they went to get it before I even had a chance to get things settled.

Work starts monday and they're pulling the motor probably in the next few days following. I also got the price quote on the repairs of the rest of the car and its about 4k in all which might be out of my price range as I was really not expecting it to be that much.

Also the shop is being a little weird about the hood now (probably because they've already sourced everything...) and are no longer co-operating with the CF hood thing...

My last visit to them was a little disappointing to be honest. But we'll see what happens int the end

I am a little bit disappointed me too for having to do the paintjob on my car over there a month and a half ago ... I had a little bit of rust coming out 3 week after being repainted ... go and do some spot check sometimes to be shure the job is OK ... BTW nice setup mister
