what's the MOST BALANCED spring/strut setup?

My worry was what to do when the MSP struts died, but I wasn't really looking at it like that. They very well might outlast my car, which has 83k. Supposedly they have 15k on the struts.

So the full msp setup will be a nice upgrade from stock, and not sag much in the back (it looks like they sag a hair, 1/4in or so, no biggie).

the "Rake" you speak of as "Sag" will be less with the MSP setup than it is with the stock. the MSP setup will give you a more even front-back look. (as opposed to a front heavy look in stock form)

Really? This pic was posted in my thread elsewhere:

It's a bit lower in the rear.

It's a bit lower in the rear.

without knowing anything else about the car, i would venture to say that it only "Appears" to be lower in the rear do to the car being in motion around a corner or there is something in the back weighing it down. however, i dont have hard numbers to back up my statements, since i drive a sedan, and no one in the protege world seems to know how to measure ride height.

my car sits at 12.75" front, and 12.5" rear. (measured fender to wheel center) technically, thats lower in the rear. but, looking at my car, you wouldn't be able to tell.

The MSP springs will create sag in the rear if you don't have the MSP Tokico struts. They have a longer shaft to make up for the spring length difference.

If those struts & springs only have 15k on them, I wouldn't worry about them wearing out. Should be good for at least another 85k miles, easy. Well worth $200.

I enjoyed my setup but my new Tokico/Tein setup is miles better. The MSP setup just has too much body roll. Hell, I think the Tein setup has too much roll. But then again my endlinks are busted all around.

Interesting. The yellow one looks about like stock, just lower. Stock, the rear looks higher due to the bigger wheel well.

Hey, would the msp setup/struts require different endlinks, or would my stock p5 endlinks work?

Ah yes the perch location is a factor. I had never considered this just the shaft length.

Drew up a pic to see it:

totally go for the $200 deal.

That MSP springs and struts combo sounds like an excellent deal. Do it!

IMO, you should go the distance and pick up an MSP rear swaybar too. The Racingbeat bar will significantly reduce body roll and bring the P5's handling closer to neutral.
