What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

Taking my car in for service to see if they will cover the turbo under warrenty tomorrow and should i take my boost gauge out? Very quick process to do it but debating weather i should seeing its actually tapped into the bov (Don't want them to have any excuse to say no). Bumper to bumper warrenty expired on June 4th, hoping they will cover it :(

lol. it sucks all the issues he is having with that pump tho

Thanks bro.

install the internals yourself like I did. then you can only blame yourself if they fail. :) So far so good for me. About 7k+ miles on it.

Dude, I had over a 2K miles on the 1st pump I broke in, and it s*** the bed out of the blue. John was seeing a lot of that and "didn't know why." This one s*** the bed during break in. It's not my fault PTP cannot make reliable pumps. They are pieces of s***. Funny that CPE or KMD doesn't have such a huge FAIL rate. Yeah, it must be the break in or the install... maybe they should just get out of the hpfp business because they definitely don't know what they're doing.

Your car is turning into a lemon.

First of all, **** you. The only car issues I've had were due to crappy aftermarket parts failing. And you're the one who couldn't shift his car for like a year, lol.

They will definitely try to use it as an excuse. Take it off before going in to the dealer.

Thanks bro.

here's how you fix your fuel pump problems. stop buying from ptp, lol.

LOL, I know. I'm looking at the KMD internals now. A CPE pump would be great, but they're expensive, and don't seem to exist, lol. Those things are on back-order until who knows when. I've heard great things about the KMD internals though, so I'm most likely going to go with them. I'm not aware of any other alternatives anyways?

Short of strapping a 3,000+ psi pressure washer to the trunk of your car, I think that's all there is out there.

Definately take it off. They'll say something like the turbo was over spooling ,lol

well... im sorry you're having a bad experience... my ptp internals worked fine the first time, and are still working great

but its not to say ptp cant make reliable pumps.... its very hard to do; it needs to be tight enough so fuel and oil dont mix, yet loose enough to pump without sticking; that is a lot of minute measuring. the OEMs barely got it right, and thats supposed to be the de facto standard ..... and with CP-e having the hook up to use APR's parts and test station (again VW parts) they have an advantage.

get them VW internals and get er done, i guess...

dyamn shame bout all those pump problems douge is having... seems he is wishing for a diff platform now eh?
ill be honest, i will never and never planned to go heavy mod on this car, i dont feel this platform is meant for it.

Found that I need to replace one of the TMIC bolts that holds the cover down.

haha, me too!! i overtorqued one of those shroud cover bolts and its IN the IC now.
gotta get a tap & die kit... ugh.

guess you haven't been in the 6 community long enough?? lol. i dunno ive seen it for a while now.

u guess it! Only since August '09!

Thanks man. Isn't this Morris? Did you change your name on here, or is it just different on this forum? Who is APR that CPE works with? Just curious.

LOL, my buddy over-torqued one of those bolts on my car and it snapped off in the IC as well when we were putting the fmic in. It holds a support bracked for the CPE fmic, but I haven't bothered having it tapped out because the pipes don't move anyways. Those bolts are super weak. I snapped one elsewhere. Gotta ease up on the torquing I guess, lol.

yall see the big ol CPE versus PTP debate on MSF?

i was like LOL!!

(haha, lots of abbreviations).

Which one? lol I posted up in there awhile back asking about CPE vs. PTP... most of them love the PTP pump, and it works great for many, but they have too high a failure rate imo, esp for something like a fuel pump. My car was sitting in my lot for 10 days w/ no fuel pump. I never hear of the CPE pump failing, though I wouldn't be surprised if a couple have. It's hard to cough up another $300 for the CPE pump though. I'd much rather put that towards a labonte stage 2 w/m kit. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for I guess...

yea... my sn was never approved.... i think my cover is gonna get blown, even though im not doing anything wrong... just wanted to get on the board for another resource of info... different crowd (im very neutral and not taking sides on this board vs board bs)

but yes... APR makes VW parts, our fuel pump is very close to the VW FSI pump(both made by hitatchi)... dont think the parts are a direct fit, but requires little work from oem. did you get on the old batch of ptp internals? the machinist John was using cut some corners to save a buck...needless to say, John nipped that in the bud....

Lol, I just recognized your sig... didn't mean to blow you cover ;). As for the pump... I ordered my first one right "after" those machining problems, so I may have gotten one that was inspected under their electron microscope, or whatever they were going to use to make sure they were good, lol. The second one just came last week, so it definitely wasn't out of that batch. Yeah, I'm a little sketched about the KMDs... but Forzda1 swears by them. I don't know who else has them to ask? I dunno. I would be really pissed if I got a set of KMDs and they s*** the bed. Plus, they only come w/ a 1 year warranty :/ I dunno. Being broke fml. If I had the extra loot, I'd get the CPE pump hands down.

Ah, the HPFP internals debate. Man, this subject seems to never get resolved.

From all the research I did, it seems like the KMD ones are the way to go if you're installing them yourself. The PTPs are hit or miss, and the other s*** that was available from PG back in the day was as reliable as a Toyota accelerator pedal. I've yet to find a story of the CP-e pump failing. Better yet, I've not seen any issues with getting CP-e to step in and help out if something of theirs does go awry.

After the PTP restrictor issues, I'm not really sold on their products. Not saying they don't make good stuff, but I'd rather spend the money on a quality product from someone else.

oh, the one about the 600 WHP ms3 challenge.
those two reps turned it into an spitting match, arguing stupid s*** the whole time. so stupid lol.

why would you need to be "under" cover? and why wouldnt your OG sn get approved?
not like you did something wrong! or DID you... haha man you're a goof, btw you making it to the Riverside meet?

hey guys..
