What have you done to your P5 today?

when other people pulled their side moldings off, did the paint/clear coat behind the molding look the same as the rest of the car? mine looks a little messy even though all the adhesive is gone. Ill probably get a full professional detailing from a friend for not too much money later on which will most likely make it look perfect.

Just bought a compression tester. Will be doing it tomorrow probably. Can someone read through this and make sure that the procedure I'll be doing is right?

Take out coils and plugs. Unplug coils. Insert tester into first hole. Hold down gas pedal and let engine crank 4-5 times. Check pressure. Repeat for other three cylinders.

Sound right? I don't want to mess anything up.

You can't really fix it as far as I know. You just have to buy a wheel/tire combo that will be as close to the same diameter as stock as possible.

Couldn't you take it to a shop and have them put a new gear thingy put in. I know the regular proteges are gear driven speedos and the MSP's are ABS driven if i recall correctly.

So you can do just like lifted trucks do and goto a trans shop and have them correct the speedo by inserting the correct gear ratio in the trans. However most don't even bother and just deal with the fact that they know their speedo is off by so much due ot larger tires.

Oh yea you could probably do that but I don't know anyone that would wana go through that much trouble to do that... Usually an upgrade to 17's and different tires will throw your odo off by 1-5% max. At 100 mph, you're +/- 5mph.

I agree with you most would just deal with it and wouldnt think its worth it for the cost to correct the speedo. But it can be fixed/corrected if your willing to go forth the trouble and cost. Personally I'd just deal with the speedo being slightly off. Now if it was something stupid like 15mph at low speeds then thats another story

So all of my plastic caps that go over the roof rack cracked on me, piece of crap plastic. Anyone have a clean set of caps that go on with the roof rack installed?

got my SpeedHut c/f gauge bezel and SLS brushed aluminum door lock bezel in the mail today. I will wait on more parts to show up that I ordered so I can do it all at once. Hopefully next weekend. Still waiting on the gt-spec front strut bar, yudkib gauge rings, prosport oil sender plate and bosch wideband 02 sensor.

My paint is very faded all around the car, so where my moldings were is brighter than the rest, albeit not by alot. But I am having the entire car repainted as soon as I get the time.

Yea my speedo is a little off because I'm running larger tires (215-45-17). It reads slow, meaning I'm going faster than it's showing. Going off my garmin gps' speedometer, I am traveling 73mph when the speedo is reading 70mph.

Yesterday I tried to remove the threaded end of my old antenna, which rusted into the antenna base and snapped off when I tried to remove the antenna. I used a Snap-On remover kit, but the metal part of the base just spun inside the plastic housing of the base, so I just put a dab of black RTV in the drilled-out hole to prevent anything else from happening. Looks like I need a new antenna base so I can finally install my PG shorty antenna.
