MZSPD3 GReddy Boost Controller Install

Hey all

I'm new to this site so.. no expectations right? haha

anyhow, Im install a GReddy Profec B-spec II into my '07 mazdaspeed 3

I have most of down, I just have a couple questions.

~~~first, some instructions I found tell me to - "Locate the factory boost control solenoid that is bolted to the turbo. Disconnect wiring that goes to it. You may choose to remove the factory solenoid or leave it installed. Unplug the vacuum lines that go to it."
There is a hose going from the solenoid to the supposed "high pressure boost source" (is this the wastegate?) which is located behind the solenoid in the engine compartment - there is also a hose going from the solenoid to (what appears to be) an air input... a small input on the side of where all the air converges... from like the air intake and the recirculation from the BOV
am I correct in saying that the "high pressure boost source" should go into the "NO" on the GReddy Boost Control Valve - and the 2nd hose (which went to the air converging thing) should be replaced going to the "COM"
and the "NC" should just be left completely open... with nothing in it?~~~
that was the first part (hahaha)
~~~for seconds, the instructions tell me I need to use the line going to the fuel pressure regulator to go straight to my controller in the cabin... I have looked for how to do this and in process I have found threads saying that this isnt possible on the Mazdaspeed 3 because the system's pressure isnt the same there or something... where do I put in the three way fitting to get the pressure for the controller?~~~

as you can see I actually dont really have ANY of it down pat but I have the general idea... supposedly

so I call to you, my gear-head friends for help! Thanks!

PS ~ I could be totally off on everything... any help of any kind is appreciated!

(flame) maybe telling you Im a crazy ginger will get you guys talkin... (poke)

if that doesnt work, these should (boobs) hahaha

I have seen other people post links, so I assume it's allowed.

This site is what I am using for instructions, but it does not tell me anything in regard to my second question. I dont know how to get the pressure reading it wants in the cabin at the main unit

also, its reffering to specifics for a different unit which are hard to translate to the GReddy unit...

Im hittin the hay, maybe Ill find some magic by morning?

congrats on the nice boost controller...but don't think about touching that controller much man...i wouldn't go past 17 psi..and even 17 psi un-tuned can lead you into a blown motor a lot faster then what you think...especially if you don't have an upgraded fuel pump (which i am assuming you don't since mods aren't in your signature..then you will have to change your motto to "stupid kid, slow car"

Well...I don't know about this boost controller but, you need to put your high pressure boost source somewhere other than the compressor scroll fitting or it's pretty likely this BC won't.

You could put a fitting in after the scroll or use the BPV line, like I did. Axis is right, I wouldn't push it much over 17 untuned a/o unpumped either.

In the end, I ripped the MBC off I had and went Hypertech tune. No fiddling, no cuts, better operation and performance...ahh, relaxation.

I can do most mods, Ive done simple ones like an Injen Air intake, GReddy BOV (or I suppose its a BPV...), short throw, subwoofers...

if I knew what I needed to make this thing legit I would be able to do it. I just need the info about the boost source for my controller.

So... Im putting this thing in either way, I just appreciate the help... and even a stock MZSPD3 isnt slow

I can use the line to the (supposed blowoff valve) which is actually a BPV because I'm recirculating... not the recirculating hose

the pressure hose going to the BPV maintains the correct pressure for the controller?

and what's the "scroll"

what pump should I be getting? anything else to make it more legitimate? I thought that an adjustable BPV was a good idea for protecting the system so I got a GReddy one and have the recirculating nozzle in the mail

Thanks for getting back, I appreciate it!

By the way... if I ever do get confident enough to put this thing in I am going to make a frikkin thread with good pictures for helping people install theirs... It's riddiculous that I cant find ANY out there!

Lants in all honesty this forum is not soo much detailed and people are lazy around here...if you want to have like tons and tons of info on the mazdaspeed3/6 and where people are actually helpful and very very experienced head over to .....i pmed you the site hence you can get banned here....and yes a stock MS3 is slow that is once you make some power and then go and drive a stock one...it is slow

AH, I don't know if you should have said it like that here, I think alot of people will get offended and you might get some crap, but hey you do have 1st admin rights. good luck.

i don't care about getting crap i made it through with all of the crap that i got for blowing up my car and what not....it's true dude me and him were both not able to find too much info on here similar to the OP topic...searched on the other forum and wow pages and pages of info with pics...do i care if i get banned from here eh no not really...because there is barely any useful info on here for the MS3 it's all like what fmic, or dp, or intake should i get...do you like my wheels?

Ok, I'm going to supply useful info to counter the asshatry in this thread.

ALL a manual boost controller needs is a clear manifold pressure signal. Lots of people suggest taking that from as close to the compressor housing as possible but, you can take it from any manifold pressure source, even if you have to tap a pipe and install a fitting to do it.

The compressor housing (air blowing side) is called the scroll.

The PtP internals have served me well. Install is easy, they re-use the stock retainer (which is good) and they keep pressure up, even on near fully bolted cars like mine.

The BPV is an unnecessary mod at your level of boost and mods. I have one (Forge) because I was getting flutter and weird driveability on the stock valve when I had only an intake on the car.
