What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

I fished this little clip that goes on one of the high pressure lines out of my engine bay today with a coat-hanger, lol. When I took the little clips completely off the the caps of the high pressure lines, the blue line has this little piece in it:

I never even saw that little bastard, so I didn't even know I dropped it! So glad I did the "how to" across a few forums, because Philly B on msf caught it and clued me in. He made the same mistake the first time, and almost lost that little clip. You don't need to take the clips all the way off, which he explained. I updated the "how to" from the other day so others don't make the same mistake: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123777115 <--- Fellow n00bs, definitely tackle this on your own, as it's a breeze. Feel free to ask any Q's when you're going to do it.. how to is pretty thorough tho imo :)

Yesterday I remounted my FMIC with a sturdy, steel bracket. Previous owner decided that a single zip tie was sufficient to hold it all together.

While I was under there I learned that the previous owner also thought it was a good idea to saw a frame member off to make room for the FMIC. I wonder what went through their head, "Hmmm, heatsoak or potentially life-saving, structurally important steel beam?"

hate it when people hack things up and create a safety issue for themselves, and not to mention for the next owner of their car without them knowing.. seriously it pisses me off..

brand new the crash bar goes for like $300+.. just in case you wanna replace it..

ok, GripGarage...cool.
I was checking to see if RPM was seeling the same set. $999...but I wonder why it says Mazda 6/MS6.
Weird.

Wow. busy day! I think I went to 8 stores gathering parts. Started washing the car around 3:30. Dried it and cleaned the interior and windows. Cleaned the engine bay a bit. Then ran back to 2 other stores. lol. Started on the blow through setup tonight around 10pm. Then finished at 1:30 cuz my sister went to sleep and couldnt sleep with me working in the garage! So anyways. I knocked out a lot tonight. This blow through setup is going to be a breeze. Which it should be since I have been gathering parts for over a month. All the parts come out to be about 600+ bucks. Yes! thats what i said..... Anyways. I should start a thread on this setup. I made my custom SRI. I changed my pipe setup right after the turbo over the engine. Put on a breather filter on the back of the valve cover. I still havent started on the wiring for the battery. But it shouldnt be too bad.

Pics to come.

Ok this is how the intake will be positioned. Except I will probably cut 6-8" off that pipe to bring the intake further in.

edit: PS- I found a way to do it without using those blue couplers I got. :)

awesome man.. now i can put a number into my adding machine and tack on another $600 to my build.. wooohoooo!!! lol.. seriously im into this build at around 11k.. on top of the 9.5k ive spent on the car already, plus its original cost 28.7 k. or something like that.. 50k bill.. kinda makes me (sick) but :D

im interested to see how the new setup looks and interested to see what list of parts ill need.. to add on to my other list..

edit: so just saw your pics.. basically all your doing is putting the MAF where the BOV pipe was with the cx kit and the new BOV position is on the hot side?? is that a good thing?? correct me if im wrong, new intake looks sweet.. but any chance you can make it end up kinda like mine is.. or is the cold pipe in the way..

The bov will go before the MAF. SOrry if that pic threw you off. I wanted to run the pipe straight over the engine but they dont meet each other. Thats why that extra pipe is laying behind it. I need to cut like a 8" piece from that and then connect it. That pipe you see before the MAF I need to cut a few inches off of that and run the BOV right there. Keep in mind thats all 3" piping coming into the engine bay on the cold side.

I may be able to bring the filter out and over more. But I need to get the BOV hooked up to see what room I have to work with. If so then I may be able to extend it with the extra 3" piping I have. I should be finished up tomorrow night.

ohh ok.. thats how i thought you were gonna run it then i saw the pic and im like wait BOV is going on the hot side.. that aint right.. but now i got it.. 3 inch damn!!.. yeah your probably gonna be able to get the intake to go alittle bit to the right but the bov will be in the way..

cool s*** though definetly.. im sure douge and alot of others will love it, as this is the first time that a blow thru setup has been offically posted and also the first time pics have been posted of it on this forum.. so hats off to you Taylor on that.. simply awesome!!!..

I guess I am a test mule. :) Debating wether I should do a how-to or keep this secret. I shouldn't have to tune for anything except for the MAF curve sicne it is still the same MAF housing. I'm anxious to see how shes gonna drive.

I was wondering about the whole tuning situation when going with a blow-through set up like your doing, so your going to keep tuning with AP?

actually i was more of a hitting the car with a basketball kinda of kid lol.
