just like the title states lol its needs some work but overall it runs good. im walking in the dark with these engines i know just the very very basics of them but it'll be a learning experience. i have a seperate daily for now so im not stressed about trying to get to work or school or any of that.
i bought a 1986 fc rx7 non turbo today with 80,200 miles on the odometer :D, it was passed from the original owner down to the second owner after the original passed away, then i bought it lol.
THE BAD
- needs shifter bushings...BAD lol
- needs new clutch slave and master cylinders i suspect..clutch pedal sticks
- there is no coolant resivoir, but also no signs of engine damage from what i can tell. i have the resivoir and refuse to drive it until i have the cooling system complete and working. anyone know where the two hoses from the resivoir connect to???
- driver side door lock needs to be replaced
other then this stuff ^ everything is good, and in working order. hoping to get it running great then maybe i can daily it :D

i bought it for 1700 not really sure if i got ripped off or not it was my first car purchase on my own. they originally wanted 2000, then 1900, then i offered 1700 and it was mine. anyways ill get pics up as soon as i find my camera, but until then..im freaking excited to work on this car lol anyone have any good tips for maintainence or anything???
glad to finally be part of the rotary community (nana)

1700 is a bit on the high side for needing that much work but really it may be worth it depending on condition and model.

as for the resevoir if i remember correctly the bottom hose goes to the radiator and the top hose is the overflow

There may be a chance it is a really early 86 model and the coolant bottle was mounted by the drivers side headlight. They are rather rare though. The bad part is I dont remember which side was in and out for the coolant pressure.

well the money is spent, whats done is done, no regrets so far so i'll just take my time with it and get it running good. its a 1986 glx no back seats has storage compartments and whatknot. body is straight paint is good not perfect but good just needs a good wash and wax. has very minor dents like 5 i think and there tiny.

thanks shadow102 i'll be doing that tomarrow. i think it was mounted just like yours is.

finally found my camera so here are some pics of it i'll get some better ones tomarrow

sweet :)

if ur gunna run it at willow u might as well strip the interior

I can't believe they made those nice cars with a maroon interior!!!

lmao i know right...what were they thinking maroon on maroon...horrible black would have been so much better lol

i might strip it anyways just cause i dont like the maroon to much. but we will see i also thought about swaping to a black interior once all mechanical issues are sorted out.

im hoping it doesnt either, i just plan to do suspension really not to much for the power department until i am more familiar with the rotary. but i do have a reliable daily so yea.

also how do i do multiple quotes on here?

on the right of the quote button use that button ( "+ ) and it will selected the quote. u can tell by the background color changing, select the ones u want then press the main quote button. . 600 something post and u are barley figuring that out. (headshake
jk ;P
i agree black dash would be better. but u know this already

For most any new replacement part you need: www.mazdatrix.com
For everything else: www.apexautoparts.net

250 whp is a lot for an N/A build - just like the Proteges, best to go with a turbo (TII) swap if you want cheap whp.

Oh yeah, stay away from RX7C - too much crap going on behind the scenes...

Interior is the worst part of fc's. So cheap, & tacky. Just build an aluminum dash, and scrap everything! That's what I want to do to the next fc I get my hands on.
