Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

Have an a tip and hid's I need to install, but here she is.
[SNIP]

Again, lookin' pretty sweet...

I really like how it looks w/o the door side moldings. Adding that to my to-do list. :D

Thanks.

Installed the new tip today ill post pics after the hid install (dont want to spam this thread). I pretty much did every dumb way to remove the tip possible. It was spot welded on the top and bottom. I used a dremel and cut around the spot welds and removed the tip then a chisel and hammer to knock off the remaining welds..sounds easy but i used about 10 cutting wheels for the dremel lol.

Had a blast yesterday at my first autocross in the rain! Got my 3 into a drift (not intentionally) coming out of a turn. While sliding, I had the wheel cranked all the way to the right. I was thinkin' to myself, "Alright, that's all I've got. I sure hope it catches quick!" It did and the rear end whipped back the other way a little. I quickly countersteered and continued on my way! Cool thing about it was that a guy (David Cosseboom--his website: www.gotcone.com), taking pictures of the event, caught the first part of it on "film"...

What mods have you done on your Mazda?

WHAT?! You won the ST class? Congrats!! Tell me there were no Civics there. I'm having trouble getting above 5th out of 8..

Please let me know your setup.

Btw, I like the "Intimidator" numbering and plate..

Yeah, you're right...There were no civics there. I presume, you being from Wisconsin, you were thinking of this guy in particular who comes down here to Nebraska a couple times a year and kicks everyone's butt...
img_0504.jpg

He was there for my first autocross in July of last year where I finished last out of 5 (he won, of course). Since then I've competed in four more, winning every one. No civics since the first but I've competed against P5's, Focus ZX3's, Escort ZX2's, Toyota Celica's, and an Alfa Romeo. So I guess, me winning is no big deal.

I do feel I'm a much better driver now than I was at my first meet so I'm anxious for that guy from Wisconsin to come back so I can see how I stack up. I don't expect to beat him, that's for sure, but to at least finish respectably close to his time.

BTW, here's all the mods I've done to my car. I just cut and pasted my MS word file. The majority of them are appearance mods but you can pick out the important setup stuff on your own (sorry, I'm lazy!)...

Oh, and thanks for the comments on the "Intimidator" numbers and plate! In case you couldn't tell, I'm I huge Earnhardt fan! (Duh!) Don't really feel worthy enough to run his number on my 3 but as long as I keep winning...Or at least until the Civics show up!

Yeah that guy tears up SCCA Milwaukee here. He was there for my very first autox this year and he got 2nd. The other Civic (also an EF) that is up here wins everytime. It runs in pro class AND in ST. Two weekends ago it took 2 trophies in pro and one in ST (had two drivers in ST but only one trophy). Otherwise the newer SIs are pretty quick around the track with minimal mods. I'm hoping my times will improve with a set of sways and some new tires (going with star specs on a 16x7 wheel). I also am not expecting to WIN the class, just expecting to be a little more competitive. When I was 5th out of 8 I beat a ZX2 and a Celica and one other car that I forgot what it was.

Again, congrats and keep on winning!

Some new pics...yes I know they look odd. I took them in raw mode on the DSLR and messed with the exposure\vibrance\blacks..maybe some might like it.

I'm in the market for a 2nd hand 3 GT Sport right now but red wasn't on my short list of paint colors. These pics changed my mind though, your ride looks awesome! What size rims/tires are you running? They look so wide, are you having any issues with rubbing?
