I'm thinking 35k
BMW and Audi money.
but worlds cheaper to maintain and repair.
and 35k? you aren't getting much BMW or audi for that money.
you are looking at a 1 series (smaller, overpriced), an a3 (save your money, buy a vw gti), or a BASE a4 (boring styling, overall meh)
new or pre-owned?
I'd imagine they were pretty bare bones option wise.
Yeah, but they're 328's. You're comparing a base 3 series to a top of the line Regal. If the Regal is $34-35k you could have the choice of an AWD, 6 speed manual, turbo 4, sport suspension, and brembo's, an 'entry level' Caddy CTS with a 300 hp V6, or an 'entry level' 328 BMW. Plus, if I wanted a 3 series I would only buy the 335.I was just at my BMW center this morning which had a number of 328i and 328xi on the lot going for around 35K.

not to mention the cost of long term maintenance on the BMW. Overall cost of ownership is much lower on the buick.
But 295 lb-ft of torque. From everything I've read the GS is rumored to have 255hp which is just 15hp more then a 328i's 230hp. Which is not really a big difference.
Not even close. The Saab 9-3 was built on the same platform as the OLD Chevy Malibu (pre-08 model year, Epsilon platform), although I'm told the only parts they shared were the rear lower control arms. The 08 and later Malibu could be considered an Epsilon 1.5.What it comes right down to is that the Regal is just a rebodied Saab 9-3.
The new Regal is on the Epsilon II platform and will be the second car in the US to use it. The Buick LaCrosse being the first.
