What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

EGR delete. Stays on all the time.

you can get rid of it with the AP... look in the advanced parameters section for the code thats being thrown and uncheck that code, it wont throw it anymore when your running that specific map.. sometimes you may have to delete a family of codes for it to go away.

I have removed the code with the AP. Here is the thing. It still shows the light but when you check it to see what code it is throwing nothing comes up.

have u tried hooking up a code scanner to it, not just reading it from the ap.. i had to do that, took me 3 times to get the VCTS codes to go away because there was actually 3 of them in that group that i needed to get rid of.. the AP didnt show anything as you say after deleteing just one but the light was still on..

Having a Kid (yippy)(yippy).. lol.. but basically thats the reason..

Look for a very detailed F/S thread on it this week..

Understand the child but the car can work with a child. I use it and I have a child. She loves the back seat. You can always take a break with the mods. I'm not sure your rationale. If you still decide to change, whatever you do do not get a mini-van.

Installed TWM stage 2 short shifter. PITA to get the bolt out. The rest was easy except that I had to call a friend to take me to Lowes so I can get a replacement bolt as I dropped one inside the car. I also replaced the bushings at the same time. It was not that difficult but took longer than intended. I also put in a new TWM shorter boot. Overall it looks nice. I LOVE the new shifts, very short and precise.

Since I was at Lowes, I picked up the stuff for the HD lip (year wrong store). I washed the bottom of the bumper and let dry. Then I used alcohol on the bumper and let dry. It was a simple install and I only used double sided tape. There is one place that it is a little off but I'm not looking for perfection.

Wanted to do the CAI and high beams today but ran out of time and patience. I'll contact a friend to do this or take it in. I enjoy having the stuff but not putting it in.

Took my car out today and took some pics. Also shot a video of some take offs. Uploading it now to youtube.

I wonder what other codes need to be deleted?

ill look it up in alldata sometime tomorrow or tuesday for ya, any code that deals with the egr is going to be thrown with it deleted, heck u may have a code thats being thrown thats not part of it but deleting the egr could be causing the light to be on..

edit: cant look at the vid now but will later on..

My engine light still blinks like when the ecu is still relearning. Even after a couple thousand miles of reseting. Whats the deal with that?

Word...after I found out cpe is like 25mins away from the house...I'm literally going there to get all my stuff from them...just need to find the right Speed6 for me.

I guess you are content and not selling your Speed....I'm glad...it means we can actually have a good DMV (Delaware/Md/Va) Mazda Meet lol.

I toured the shop once there stuff is very good. Guys who work there are really cool too. let me watch them work nice place. I work right doen the street from them.

I am amazed at the number of people who are posting about problems with their headlights being oxidized. Mine are still bright and shiny so I guess I lucked out.

yeah so are mine. 57k no problems.

I think the Speed can be a very family-friendly car, but I can see Boosted not wanting his new baby in a racecar. I'm not 100% sure how the comfort is on his now, but I'm willing to bet it rides a little stiff, and may have some extra fumes from time to time. Heavy mods would discourage me from strapping kids into the car too, even if only from the "changing anything could decrease the safety/reliability" point of view. I'll be very sorry to see you go Boosted, I hope someone on here buys your car and takes good care of her.

Nice exhaust Qwik, sounds great.

Oh, and I finally washed, clayed, and waxed on Friday night. It's so smooth now (if you can look past the few scuffs and the rock chips). I think next spring a full touch up and polish may be in order.
