Trading in the Speed 3...

Next month I will be trading in the Speed 3 for a 2010 370z, touring w/ sport package. It's a 2007 Grand Touring in silver. 23k miles in PERFECT condition. Has been garaged and covered while in the garage for the entire time I've owned it, so I'm hoping to get some good bites on some private party offers.

As much as I've enjoyed the car, I've been eager to get back into a sports car while I still can. I've enjoyed being a part of the community and really appreciate all of the help and feedback I've received from everyone over the past few years.

I will probably be selling my wheels currently on the car, and will post details/pics in appropriate forum as soon as they are up for sale.

Okay, first of all congrats, 370z is a hell of a car. I sold them for a few months when I worked for Nissan. Second of all, what you are saying don't make sense? You are trading the car in on a 370z, yet you are hoping on getting some good private party offers? Wouldn't that be selling the car first, then buying the 370z instead of trading in? I am confused ? lol, but anyways, get us pics when you do man!

Be sure to change out the pads if you track the car at all...

The pads are pretty soft and melt off in hard braking... also there is inadequate cooling for the brakes so boiling the fluid coming into play sooner than it should.

As for selling the Speed 3, I've already sat down with Nissan and run the numbers with the Mazda as trade-in and it's equivalent value 2 months down the road. Since I've got 2 months though, I figure I'll try and see if I can't get any private party offers that may be better. If not, the car will be traded-in.

I'll be sure to post pics of the new car when it arrives! ETA is end of June.

I heard about the oil problems with the 370z, but the brakes too? Wow, I would expect more from a 40k sports car (NISMO version).

Have Mazda introduced a new mazda speid series of vehicles like the 3 and 6 yet?

Traditionally, Mazdaspeed has only worked on one model at a time. Currently, they are still putting out the Mazdaspeed3. Not sure which model they may tackle next, or how far off that will be. They're overdue to switch models.

To the OP: 370's are darned sexy sportscars. Much as I love my MS3, I cannot fault you. Best of luck with it.

My vote would be for a repeat of the MiataSpeed. The 2.3L turbo and the Miata frame? Luscious. Wonder if that motor would fit?

If a V8 can fit, I am sure the Mazda engineers could shoehorn the 2.3 DISI turbo into the MX-5.

what kind of wheels do you have on your Speed3 that you will sell?

They are black OZ Ultraleggeras 18x8. Perfect condition, have never curbed them and they are constantly cleaned. Will post pics in proper forum once I have them off the car. Feel free to PM me if interested.

It seems like Mazda should be in line to build a supercar pretty soon, espcially since companies like Lexus and Nissan have really stepped up their game with that, but I could be wrong.
