New Map Update for 2010 CX-9 is Awesome

Just tried the new map DVD I got in the mail today.

I'd say that the $199 is so worth it even though I'm just going from 2008.1 to 2009.1.

First of all, it is now showing my subdivision on the map.

What's more interesting is that it comes with a software update that enables the "Traffic Information" feature on the 2010 CX-9. Now I can get the traffic updates in Atlanta area through one of four radio stations that supports it for free. It shows road works, accidents, etc.

Traffic information system is also available on 2008 navigation as well.
However, it was turned off (and no way for users to turn it on).
If the new map enables this even for 2008 model, I would definitely jump on it.
Anyone can confirm this? Well, maybe I should volunteer myself....

Well, I just placed an order for my 2008.
I'll post my findings once I install it.
Usually new disc comes with new software version to access the new (or more) data (and probably new format).

ceric,
By all means , please let us know how the up-dates work. Especially, traffic info.

Regards

Tom

Holy pungent crap, 200 bucks for an update? They're still charging that much?

The DVD update for an aftermarket Kenwood device running Garmin is about $70 or so. Ah well, what can you do...

Sorry guys. No traffic update.
Just installed my new disc.

Old:
Version: 1100
Map: 2006.v2

New:
Version: 1400
Map: 2009.v1

I don't see ANYTHING new in term of graphics.
The region/zone actually got reset. Make sure you set it back.
Previous addresses and home remain intact.
All settings go back to default (of course).

Anyway, I usually update the map every 3 years.
This is for a 2008 CX9.
On the disc, the new version is "G", my old one was "C".

NO TRAFFIC UPDATE for 2008.

Thanks cerc,

No traffic for $199.00 That sucks big time.(pissed)

Thanks for being the test case.

I was disappointed as badly.
As I said, I do the update every 3 yrs or so.
At least the shipping was very fast....

Bummer...I wish they would make these nav systems more interchangable so you don't have to buy a new car to get a better nav system....

Why not the latest Nav DVD?

Just tried the new map DVD I got in the mail today.

I have a 2010 CX-9 and it came with the 2008 ver.1 Navigation DVD. Do all 2010 models come with two year old DVD's?

We just bought a 2010 CX 9 as well and the DVDs that came with it say 2009/2010 on them but when you go in and check the version it says it's version 2008. Do we not have the most recent one?

The latest version can be found on www.mazdanavigation.com.

Latest discs are usually 1 year behind in the date.

If there is a newer disc available for your new car, then call Mazda USA and complain. I got a $200 creditvoucher for Mazda products and ordered the latest disc.
