MS3 Owners: Show us your wheels

Aaaww whaaat...I cant believe it. Im gonna have to try it your way next time haha
I might even return the tires back to Big O Tires and order the Star Spec's from Discount Tire....lol

799.31 OTD with warranty (I hit boxes of nails for some reason) mounted balanced, and ready to rock and roll. I would have had them mount them on the car too, but I didn't trust those goons not to impact the s*** out of my fancy lug nuts.

Aah ok..thats about as much i would've paid to get them from tire rack..so i just decided to go with something cheaper and buy the Star Spec some other time..maybe when i get some wheels worthy of these UHP tires and not just the stockers LOL

finally done refinishing the RX-8s. filled in the two little dimples on each spoke and painted bronze. goodyear eagle GT in 235/40-18. -2.5 camber in rear, -1.5 up front. rear fenders rolled. 6mm spacers all around to make them +44. getting close to flush, but not quite...

Hot damn not yellow, that looks great. The only thing, is on the upclose shot, I can see where you filled them in and it's not very smooth. On the contrary, not many people are gonna have their faces stuck on your wheels, so you should be fine. Great look, I love your car. I would love to have seen white wheels, though!

to MM Boost....How much of a drop are these and will they fit a 2010 MS3?

Not sure, you'd have to ask around. They are I think 1.5" to 1.8" drop I do believe, something around there. It was a nice drop! I have coilovers now though so I have no use for them.

yeah, some are better than others. it was an experiment and a learning process. but you'd be impressed if you saw the beat up chrome rims i started with! i actually used white primer when i started painting and they looked awesome. but i think my car would look almost too plain with white wheels. and as laraw mentioned... a pain to keep looking good.

Not yellow those look awesome... but you should tint your windows, even just a little bit :P

tint is definitely on the list. one project at a time...

understandable bro. I LOVE YOUR CAR! Can you get some better pics of the back with the wiper removed? The ass of your car is so sexy with emblem removed, wiper shaved, and the bumper guards. I put my guards on last night and im removing my wiper this weekend and installing my carbon fiber air brushed nextmod spoiler extension :)

cheers, thanks! i just put the wheels on yesterday and wanted to snap a few. probably going to take some more shots this weekend, can get a wiper delete shot for you.

sounds like you got a sick spoiler extension! can't wait to see it...

my brother opened up his own airbrushing business, and he's doing some pieces for me this weekend. Ultimately he's gonna have trim pieces on the interior aibrushed cf, mirror covers, spoiler extension and a few things under the hood. Doing some subtle cf accents along with the blue/black. :)

Your wheels turned out great, major props for DIY!

so...not yellow...whats to become of the old wheels?(hear ya)

haha... don't know yet. i absolutely love the look of them but i wanted to move up to an 8" wheel and 235s. i have dreams of powdercoating them but if i decide to get rid of them you'll be the first to know!

The wheels look good, how did you fill the holes on the hatch from your emblem?

not too hard, just takes a little attention to detail. when you remove the "M" there are two pins that go into two small holes behind it. there is a clear plastic sleeve on each pin that i removed. i filled the sleeves with indoor/outdoor spackle(could use any filler, putty, spackle, etc.) so it was flush with the top of the sleeve. light sanding, painted the top of the sleeves with a couple coats of body matching touch up paint, snap them back in the holes, and there you go!

yea those wheels flow so well with cwp and with your car as a whole. what color were you thinking of pc'ing them? i'm still indecisive on what to get though. i'm still on stockers but i was looking at the xxr522 in black chrome. i think they'd look absolutely sick on the cwp

if you go with those, you'll have to go aggressive on fittment to get the nice concave face in the pic!
