So the Cobb SRI has been backordered for what, like 2 years now?

Seriously Cobb, wtf? I considered buying one a few times over the life of my car and since i passed the 3/36 i finally decided to do it. Ordered directly from Cobb and got this in my inbox the next day: "We expect to ship your intake within the next 3 - 5 weeks because of a back order." Really??? They were back ordered over a year ago when i was looking at one. They don't have inventory info on their page so you don't find out until later that they don't have it in stock. This is really annoying. They have had forever to make and stock enough of these. Considering canceling and going with something else

or you could just order it from SU?

Pay $14 more and have the same back order?

I have a used COBB SRI for sale in the marketplace. I have red and blue tubes, red and blue filters, and all install hardware.

PM me if interested

I'm sure you can find one somewhere. I think you need to relax a little to be honest. There are many vendors all over the country, just gotta look. But yes you're right, a while back there were a couple months where the same thing happened and nobody could find one. Cobb made a bunch and they sold like hotcakes. Thats just what happens. Remember when Power Rangers first came out?? Oh man, you couldn't find those toys annnnnywhere.

I don't want to find one somewhere, I already ordered it from Cobb. If they listed it as out of stock/back ordered i might have looked for it elsewhere. There are 2 issues here, one being Cobb's lack of inventory information on their site. The only remedy for that is me to vote with my wallet in the future. The second is Cobb not meeting the demand of the MS3 community for this part. I'm sure power rangers were hard to get when they first came out but how about when they had been out for 2+ years as the Cobb SRI has been?

and thats why i always call and see ifthey have it in stock before I order.

Well now that power rangers are no longer backordered, at least you can get one and it'll keep you busy till the intake is available. lol.

What's the point of complaining about it though... It probably won't do any good. Especially if you complain here instead of sending it directly to Cobb. Usually if a company gets enough requests for the same thing it causes them to do something about it.

I know the Cobb intake is the only full silicone/polymer intake... but there are at least 4 other SR intakes out there in the same price range (CPE, PG, HKS, K&N). It's not like the Cobb is the only one available for the car.

I have a CP-e Nano. It's freaking awesome. Never had any problems with it and it performs as it should. All SRIs for this car are going to produce the same results though... as long as it has an air straightener it's A-OK.

So you are pleased with the black flange that sits on the vacuum line just floating there? I have had both, and am much happier with the COBB.

I have complained directly to Cobb, they did not answer my email. The point of this thread is to inform prospective buyers of their products with expectation of receiving it in a timely fashion that it may not happen. Why question why I would post this anyway? Other intakes are irrelevant. I want the Cobb, I ordered the Cobb.

Defeats the purpose of having a website to order from... They could fix their inventory count online and save a lot of people a lot of problems.

You mean the PCV line and clip at the end? Sits just fine and is clicked in securely. You aren't supposed to use the elbow piece with the CP-e Nano, it doesn't fit securely or correctly if you do. Can't say I've tried a cobb, but I don't want to. I love my Nano.

Yah. When they first released it (when I bought it) the instructions didn't mention not using the elbow? I was always worried that it would come loose so I ended up ditching it for the COBB.
