its not about "being scared to say we wont be here forever"... its a matter of those of us that love this car too much to bear getting rid of it. Those that do or are planning to get rid of their MS6 may have enjoyed it while they had it, but cant honestly say they LOVED the car...

most move on purely cause they want more power, and never even had plans to stick with the car, it was more of a temporary situation sort of car which is just fine. Nothing wrong with that mentalliy. It's just sad to see it happening a lot lately is all. then agian, i have driven most my cars into the ground, i have a hard time bringing myself to get ride of a car simply out of boredom. to each their own! amiright?

However, with the platform going to a new generation of ownership you'll have new ideas and styles of modding. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to make new friends!

One thing is for certain, the people I've met through here won't disappear. There are a lot of great guys across the forums, and I won't let them go away if I don't have a Mazda anymore.

Besides, I still have a Millenia and a '09 6S to mess with if I want a little zoom-zoom.

OH ffs, plz vultures do NOT encourage qwik to part out!!! we are already losing steve's ms6 for sure, not want qwik's ms6 to go teh way of the dodo... >_>

you guys are bumming me out bigtime!!!
qwik, i say for the appreciation of the car try to sell it off as is with the mazda community first... then if nothing bites, then part out. I know you can make more money parting out then selling, but you know my ultimate response: DONT SELL!! PERIOD!! :(

and about the GTO... power-wise its nice. But to be perfectly honest, the car looks blah, the interior looks blah, and its features seem somewhat blah. power-wise, upgrade; errything else? downgrade... stick with your 2011 mustang GT plans imho steve!

oh btw, ill be one of the MS6 owners sticking around for the long haul, driving this baybee into the GROUND.

Yea. I would try to sell it on here first. I kinda need to sell it soon. The car I want is for sale. Don't won't to wait too long and it be sold. I want an R32. Not a GTO. Found one for 23k. Which is great considering most are in the 28k+ range.

Qwik, please don't trade those beautiful wheels in with the car!!!
I've been drooling over those since you first put them on!!!
I'll do a tradeor something with you as im rolling on rx8s and have my stockers sitting in the garage taken off when I first got the car at 4k miles. Let's work out a deal when the time comes :)

I hate to sell and trade every part piece by piece. I want to try to sell the car as it sits. I will post up a for sale thread by the weekend. If I don't get any real bites I will then consider swapping parts. I'm asking lower than all these I see for sale on autotrader and such. And for having the mods already on my car it is a steal if you ask me. But some are very fishy about buying modded cars. So we will see how it goes. Also shipping on everything is going to kill me since I dont have any boxes to send them out in.

just to let you know you can buy boxes for fairly cheap.. or find them at the a BJ's/Sam's club or something similair... they will either cost you nothing, or maybe 20 cents a box or less.. but i hear ya on selling the car as is.. someone will want it.. and if its someone on the forum the car will be legendary..

Visit your friendly neighborhood RadioShack on any Wednesday. I used to manage a couple stores and on shipment days, we'd have about 35 boxes of freight to put away. We'd always save a couple boxes (repair shipments, store transfers, etc.), but the rest would go in the compactor. I guarantee you they'd be more than happy to let you have whatever you want.

^^^Quik6, you are running away with the MOTM for April! I just voted and you've got everyone by about 10 votes, so far!

its not that i dont love my cars, i wish i could keep them all, but growing up from the day i was born in various car dealerships we never had a car long enough for me to get attatched to, we've had some cars as long as 6 months, some as short as 3 hours before a customer comes it to buy

I'm still having second thoughts on the situation. It's either A. Keep my car. I owe 7k on it. Or B. Sell it at a loss and continue paying out 600 bucks every month for the next 5 years. A part of me is saying hell yea go for a new car. And another part is saying I have came too far on this car to get rid of it now.

Another thing I am scared about is how long will this motor last? It has 72k miles. I have most of the bolt on stuff. I am still getting it tuned. Another thing is if I trade it in I can get a non turbo V6 and I would keep pretty close to stock. And something I would plan on keeping for a long time. It just seems to me like this engine takes so much up keep to keep safe. I have done all this perventative mods. I just want something that all I have to do is change the oil.

Also I want a car I can put my foot on at times and not have to worry about hitting too much boost down low and bending a rod. I have already seen that the R32 stock can match the 0-60 time that is my best in the speed6. Which is the low 5 second range. Not to mention it has launch control. So no more worrying about burning the clutch on mine. So this car is definetly not a down grade.

I'll say this; if you're not set on a next move for a car, then maybe waiting on it isn't a bad thing. I don't think an R32 is a down grade, a GTI yes, but not the R32. Just not my cup of tea for comfort, that's all.

I know that I'm having a mixed bag of emotions for going back to stock, but I think it's just an initial reaction. Driving to work this morning I loved every minute of it, and without certain things it would lose its luster. I just keep telling myself that V8 power > 4 cyl turbo (no disrespect anyone!) and it'll all be worth it down the road.
