I just wanted to put up a picture thread, and show off my car a little bit. Nothing too special, but hopefully things will grow and I can shoot my car with a unique appearance in some cool locations. Any tips, suggestions, and criticisms are welcome (whether they be towards the car or my photography skills). Unless otherwise noted, shot with a Cannon Rebel EOS 1000d Camera and a slew of various lenses. Circular polarizer was on in some pictures, but I am no master at that yet! Thank you for looking!

Right after purchasing the car and cleaning it up- bought Aug 09 with 45,000 miles on the clock:

Thanks guys! It is actually a Corksport intake. Originally it was made for the CX7, but is a direct swap over to the MS3 (no fitment issues). This past winter I left it off my MS3 due to what I thought was a smoking turbo and warranty issues, but I had it on the CX7 for the winter before that with no issues. I have installed/uninstalled it about 3 or 4 times for various reasons but never for a problem. No CELs or anything weird.

These pics are the car right after winter, just freshly washed. Yesterday she got detailed inside and out (kerosene bath to remove old wax and tar, two washes, clay bar, and two coats of wax)...this weekend I will try detailing the engine bay for the first time.

Oh yeah, and it helps to keep the engine bay clean if you don't leave the oil cap off when you start the car. Oil spit everywhere, but at least nothing will rust!

Thanks again!

nice pics with good contrast. my only photo suggestions would be to soft focus the backgrounds a little more, some of them are taking interest away from the subject. also, be wary of reflections during close-up shots (ie, you can totally see yourself taking pics in the bumper)

however, the focus was excellent on the intake, almost advertisement-worthy.

wish i had the time to do a nice little photoshoot with the car. i'd love to do some motion blur shots with the car moving. if you get 2 other friends you can pull it off. just have someone else drive your car, and someone drive a seperate car, and you hang out the window with your camera. you don't have to be going fast, just set your shutter speed at like 1/60 or 1/30

thanks! the one of the intake was taken with a 50mm f1.8--so point and shoot and you are guaranteed to have a great picture. I love that lens

these were just me messing around at my house after a car wash. I had just picked up my circular polarizer and was seeing if it could help me eliminate reflections--obviously I learned that some still show up at certain angles.

polarizers are better for glare and help a little with contrast. if you want a crazy awesome picture get an infared lens. youd have to set your camera to take black and white, and you have to do it when it's bright outside like high noon. its a long exposure cuz the filter is so dark, but the pictures are badass.

Car Update:

In the past two months, I have bought a TRZ Dogbone Rear Motor Mount. Shifting 1-2 feels awesome now, and I don't miss third under hard acceleration!

Appearance-wise (since this is under the pics and video section) i have deleted the side mouldings and repainted my front emblem--it had chipped over winter due to no clearcoat. This time it has a can each of clear and color! No chipping thus far.

I am having a hard time deciding what to do next. I have limited funds and want way too much crap for this thing! I am going to put my ideas down and hope for some insightful opinions. Here are my future plans, the order is to be determined by your help:

Exterior:
-18x8 Enkei Imola Black Rims (TireRack Exclusive) $700 New

Performance:
-PG Front Mount Intercooler Piping Kit; supply my own core $450 New
-Cobb Accessport (for datalogging and tuning OTS maps via ATR) $500 Used
-PG E4P Total Shift Improvement Kit (Short Shifter, Weight, Bushings) $180 New
-Full Length Downpipe (PROBLEM: I need 1 catalytic converter living in Ohio, plus I already smoke...) $500??? New???
-Forge BPV $100 Used
-H&R or BC Coilovers $1000+ New

My goal for the car: A good-looking (show worthy but not show-winning) car that comes as close as possible to 300whp and is actually safer than stock with a good tune.

I'll have close to $1000 in the next week or two. What to do with it?

Pictures of my car in it's current form are coming within a few weeks as well. I wanna try rolling shots!

Pics as promised...As of 6/28/2010

Got together with a couple guys in NE Ohio to take some pictures in an old parking deck. The lights were the old gym-style yellow lighting, which proved to be difficult to shoot black cars in. We also messed around with rolling shots for a while. Here are some of my better ones. View the entire photoset here: Akron Parking Garage Photoset

Another couple months flew by with some major changes to my car. I bought 18x8+48 OZ Ultraleggera's. These came with GoodYear F1 225/35 tires, which is why they are look so small. They are 1.4 inches smaller than stock size! Here are a few pictures of the updated car....and my good luck ducks! Thanks for looking!
