What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

After many attempts with different do it yourself kits at home to clean up my headlights, including the sanding ones, and no success, I gave in and took it to a local shop to do it for $60. I'm happy with how they came out, hope it just stays that way!!

Today I changed my brake pads all around, I also replaced a bad rear caliper, I added a little brake fluid and bled them for a while but they feel softer than before for some reason. Is this normal??

Took some photos of the interor LED's... Great mod! Lighting is 100 times better now.

I'll post all the pics in a seperate thread, I changed a lot of LED's.

Finished up waxing the car. Did 3 coats on the roof, hood, and trunk. 2 coats on the bumpers and sides. Cleaned the interior and engine bay. Waxed the door jambs. Put back to black on all the weather stripping on the car as well as the rear diffuser and side mirrors. Changed the oil. Took of my exhaust tips I had painted black and red and stripped the paint off them and polished them up. Busy day.

Picked it up from the shop. New clutch is in, car pulls nicely again. Sadly, the clutch engages low to the floor, and is kind of soft. Feels like a Honda. Bleah. Maybe I need to take it back and have them bleed the hydraulic lines.

more pics to come.. all in all 3 hours to install.

cleaned my engine bay yesterday, dont have any pics though. nothing to spectacular. but it does look better now.

Bought 6 quarts of mobil 1 5w-30 AND an oil filter for 39 bucks . . . I usually do royal purple but that deal was too good to pass up.

put some washers in the stock under frame crossbar, solved my downpipe rattling, and also i had some apparent knock sensor retard... the car immediately felt different in 1st/2nd gear after putting the car on the ground.

heres a pic of the car about 2 hours after the springs were in.. they have setteled a bit more since this pic.. stuffed my sister, dad and cousin in the back seat (wow) with my O.Z. 18x8 225's on and no rubbing at all front or rear.. quite suprised by that and very pleased with the results.

Bunch of minor stuff this weekend:

1. Received and installed my 6000k LED driving lights from V-LEDS.
2. Ordered a pair of 6000k D2Ss for the lows and the 6000k HID H11 kit for the fogs from DDM.
3. Installed a gooseneck mount for my Garmin on the center console along with a spare 12V outlet tucked underneath the radio.
4. Quick wash and wheel cleaning in preparation for the full-fledged wash>clay>polish>wax>wax>wax sometime in the next couple weeks.
5. Cleaned and oiled the SRI filter.
6. Removed front bumper cover (for the first time) to remove stock air box resonator.

I'm liking these 70-degree April weekends!

I had a productive day as well:

- Swapped wheels/tires to my Parada Spec 2's. Washed, clayed, and sealed the Blizzaks and put them in the garage.
- Adjusted rear sway, since it had slid to one side, which I think was clunking on the rear pass. LCA.
- Washed it during the beautiful 70 deg. day.

Even did some more detailing on my car today. I found a polish that completely removes water spots from the windows. I was amazed. I have tried several things that couldnt do it. Finally used some special polish my dad used on his vette to remove water spots from paint. I figured what the heck. So I put some of the paste on a wrag and started using my hand buffing a small spot on my rear glass. It takes some serious elbow grease but the glass looks brand new. Not a single etch of a water spot left. I only did a sqaure foot until my arm was tired. I'm gonna wait and see if I can find a small polishing bit for a drill to make life easier. Also do it when my car isnt so clean as it will most likely spray the paste over the paint.

Shot a few new pics today. Some interiors and engine bay shots.

On a side note I finally ran for MOTM! :)

If you dont win, the world of mazda is officially stupid. LOL!!

I had a fun weekend.
- Friday took the day off work, got a wash, then did a good interior clean, leather conditioner, then had a little mini club meet at our local tires shop and got new Hankook Ventus v12 Evos!!! So excited to have good rubber finally.

- then drove about 250 miles for a club cruise day to the beach, then to pizza meet. just got back earlier today.

- contacted a buddy who will be getting me 15mm Pro-Spacers, lub my MS6 stockers, but want em a little more flush-like.

- getting them reconditioned tmorrow morning. and then gotta find someone who can paint em... gonna go a light graphite ... preferebly powdercoated.

- and dropped my MSD DH after lending it to a friend. still works, but i get a weird flicker on the lcd now. :(

Mind if I ask what this is called? I have a few I can't get rid of too. Also does anyone have a good way of taking out leaves that get stuck in the recess at the base of the wiper arms? I usually just end up breaking them all and making more of a mess!

For a quick remedy for light water spots on paint, mix up water and vinegar 50/50 and spray, then wipe off. Clay will usually do the trick too.
