I have a thud, thud, thud sound at low speeds. Sounds like a nail in the tire. Seems to go away at high speeds. I think/thought it was a wheel bearing going bad, but there is no play in the hub that I can find.

At low speed the soudn goes away when you apply the brake (again suggests wheel bearing).

BUT if I can't find any wabble in the hub how do I know which one is bad?

Wheel bearing is more heard when turning...

Could be a rotor out of spec in a area. was happening to me but im not good at knowing what words of sounds... well sound like. haha. lol!

I hear you a sound is hard to explain. (lol2)

Turning right typically makes it go away temporarily as well.

i had this coming from the front passenger side of my car. it gradually got worse and when i hit the brakes at any pressure, it would quit. when i turned, it would quit. i decidet to tear it down and see if i could find it and decided to replace the bearing anyway. i tapped the hub to get the axle out and the hub litterally fell into two peices. the rotpr and wheel ere the only thing holding it together. not saying this is it, but definately check and make sure because if it is, you could die if it gives out on you.

if you turn right and it goes away, does it get worse if you turn left? if so, it is the left side because there is more load on it now whatever it is.

This weekend I got under the car, pulled, tugged and moved everything and found no bad joints, nothing at all...

The hubs look good, no movement in the bearings, no bad sounds. The only noise is a slight creaking noise from the CV boot that is dryrotted (but not leaking).

I am stumped...

The only thing I could find was the front of the car rear rubber mount on the lower control arms looking pretty worn.

:confused::confused:
