MS3 Owners: Show us your wheels

Oh fantastic... let me know what you think! I pick mine up on Saturday. :D

lara, how low are you right now with the 225/45s and are you going to compensate for the shorter 235/40 after you install them?

Really? I have several friends with them on their Mazdaspeed3s and just rave about them.

There's a lot better out there if you can afford to run dedicated.

Let me clarify, they're great tires. Probably one of the best a/s tires on the market. But when you can run something like a Star Spec in the summer, and dedicated winters, a/s tires become sorta useless, imo. I'm sure you'll like em for DD work though.

in my case the eagle GTs might be just right. there is no summer/winter here in SF. it's always mid-upper 50's and rains more in the "winter." i need one tire that will get me through the entire year.

I need a tire that will last a decent amount of time and be great in the early spring/late fall muddy/snowy season. For the amount of dry summer weather (maybe 3 months tops?) we get, I'm better off with a high performance all-season tire. I've heard great things about the Star Specs, but I'm just not too impressed with the amount of tread that several of my friends have gotten out of them.

In which event, the GT's may be perfect for you. They were reasonably priced as I remember them as well, for what you got. Something like 650$ OTD on my Mini, mounted and balanced and whatnot.

And a Max Performance summer tire like the Hankook v12s, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ect. would work rather nicely for you. I've ran the OEM Potenzas through a winter. It sucked, but I can tell you they perform at temps even as low as freezing fairly competently. Obviously as temp goes up, stickiness goes up... but they will handle in the cold. Also the rain too. Max Performance summer tires are designed to handle nicely in rain and shine... extreme performance summers like the Bridgestone RE01-R, Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, and Yokohama Advan Neova AD08s all sacrifice some wet weather traction to specialize in dry tarmac conditions. Just don't any summer tire on snow/ice please. That is downright scary.

i live here in MA and travel to CT 35 mins everyday winter and summer and the best tire ive picked up and is super cheap are the khumo asx's a/s. grip great in the summer but handle the snow like a champ in the winter. this coming from a fellow new englander. if your around putnam ct anytime we can get together and you can look at them first hand in my torn up rims from the awesome CT plowed roads.....not. lol.

better yet, check out the NEPOC forum and the spring meet in april and see them and hang with about 25 other mazda NE peeps. check us out.
