4th Annual LRP Mazda Corral

It is a pain in the ass for us and I feel like we were blinsided! I already sent a rather lengthly e mail about how we are driving all the way from Ohio, with a 14 year old dog, that is a AKC good citizen and is alowed in hospitals and nursing homes.

I think it is going to cause a number of issues for a lot of us.....we do have some leeway, as we have a house that we are renting, we may have to hire a pet sitter as well, becuase of this revelation. Luke, let me know what we can do to help you and Mac out. You have been one of our mainstays and I don't want you to lose out because of this.

I have Lauri checking into pet sitting services in the area, hell, we may have to bring someone from Ohio to help us out.

I hear you. Its the holiday weekend and the hours that make it tough. Most people are away that would typically help me out and the 'dog daycare' opens too late and closes too early to be of assistance.

I know of a few services for walking dogs, but they are not close and they also requre a 'pre-walk' meeting of the dog so that won't help.

We can just bring them and blame it on the VW people (enguard).

Marty is small.. He'd be easy to smuggle in.

Are there anti-dog rules at other tracks where the corrals are? just wondering.

Mid-Ohio, Road Atlanta, Sebring and Barber do not allow dogs, but we eased passed folks @ all of the tracks above, except Mid-O, as we are close to home.

We have a call into track management to see what we can work out, as it BS as far as we are concerned.

Wow, talk about yanking the leash. Has it really been that much of an issue for them?

Previously they had a 'no corral' rule, which makes sense. You don't want dogs getting loose in the coral or near the track. But to now make it the whole park is crazy, espeically with all the people that camp out for the weekend.

Luke, if you want, you can bring Mac to the house and let him stay there, it is only 10-15 minutes from the track.

Thank you Marlon, I appreciate it. Unfortunately with him being just under 2 I don't fully trust him being out in someone else's house. He just recently stopped being crate trained at my condo.

I'll work something out. I don't want to miss this weekend. Just puts a huge wrench in things. Actually more like getting hit in the back of the head with a wrench.

Do you think they will let us bring the dogs on Sunday when there is no racing?

I would think it would not be an issue, we'll all bring the dogs to the track.

We got it, but we are just going to have our own little canine protest......

If I remember no one is at the gate on Sunday anyway. If they are, good thing for tinted windows and the way back :)

I'll disguise him. Put a hat on him and he can sit in the front seat of Bruces Miata. (stash)

Sorry for the ignorance but I'm new to Mazda and these forums. I recently bought 2010 MS3 and looking for some close gtg's around my area and I was forwarded to this thread. I'm in the Southern Mass, Fall River area. Let me know!
