What have you done to your MSP today?

Honestly how the setup is I woulden't go with because how it looks, more proficient ways of setting stuff up, and I think there is a difference with pipe size and length :)

But my motor bay is always clean even in the winter, a spray bottle with water and a rag never hurts on a weekly thing.

I need to do a solid degreasing on it... what would you set up differently? I'm not following. Everything I've done has been with the goal of going to a FMIC without hacking up the car. I don't want to not be able to take it back to stock, and when I do I don't want the new owner to have like 12 things to point out "Oh he cut this up too, what an SOB".

I worked it out and at 2.5" piping, between my setup and the shortest you can really do, its a difference of about 2.5 cu ft. work that out over the compressor map and its really not that big of a difference. I didn't notice a difference in spool time going to a core thats 4x the size, and piping thats maybe twice as long compared to stock. Using the same argument everyone with a core larger than mine should get a smaller one unless they're pushing 300+ hp.

hey wagon, you ever thought of relocating your MAF?

thought about it, but really have no motivation to do so, theres really no gain. I can run VTA without recirculating without changing the drivability substantially.

well i was just thinkin it would really clean up the engine bay,
you could move the filter back a little so its not right up on the cold pipe, then you could remove the clear hose, and turn the HKS the other way

would look a ton better IMO, but if its fine like that to you then hey, its not my car so do your thing lol

honestly, its not a show car, so how it looks is really very secondary to function, and it functions exactly how I want it as is.

Says the guy who removed the wing for looks and replaced the otherwise excellent looking Racing Hart wheels for MZ3 wheels...

Function can be achieved in conjunction with aesthetic appeal, it all depends on how much work, money, and time you're willing to put into it. Considering race teams, who's goal is total function over looks, keep every part of the car shiny and fresh, I think anyone who claims otherwise is just too lazy to put the effort forth. For me, when you own a 'special' car, I think its irresponsible to keep it looking anything OTHER than 100%. Again, its just my personal opinion, but for me its a pride thing. I have this beautiful car, which I take meticulous care of, and I want my pride in the car to be reflected in the metal, the cabin, trunk, under the hood, AND on the track/street. Once you get it (all the respective parts) clean, its easy to maintain.

BTW, I use Griots Garage engine cleaner, and their Engine Bay Dress Up for my cleaning and protecting. For your engine, Carl, I suggest going for a steam clean, replacing your blue connectors for black ones, and replacing the garden hose for a silicone wrapped deal, in addition to the dress-up product.

actually, my car came with aftermarket wheels that were the wrong offset, which I replaced with the mz3s. as of me buying RHs and FDs, the mz3s will be religated to being a winter set, or sold. thanks for your worry though. lol

obviously I have spent some time on aesthetics as well, and our opinions on the topic clearly differ. only difference is I don't try to push mine on you. you're like a Jehovah's witness when it comes to that damn wing! Just waiting for the day you come to my house in a suit and ask to sit me down and explain to me the error of my ways

MAY THE POWER OF THE WING COMPEL YOU - HALLELUJAH!!!!!

My mistake on the wheels. Sorry your car never came with them :(

But seriously, I don't push my beliefs on you, nor have I ever called you "wrong" for the setup you have chosen for your car. I have stated that it isn't for me, but maybe you need to tone down your sensitivity on the matter, or else I'm just gonna sit here having fun pushing your buttons...

Well in Wagon's defense I'm pretty sure our wing doesn't do s*** for performance lol. I definitely like the style but the car can look good without it if you have a decent stance AKA aftermarket suspension.

I totally agree. If nothing the wing provides a little directional stability at higher speeds. Bottom line is a good looking car is a good looking car no matter what... While I don't like the MSP wingless, thats not saying I've never seen one I didn't like (loved Not Yellow's when he still had it).

I was in love with the MX-5 wheels on his car.

On topic: Should be starting the FMIC install before long...my dad is being so anal about the front bumper removal even though there is a "How To" on here that goes step by step. Or should I say bolt by bolt.

On Topic Part deux: CF project is coming along nicely and I have my metal ADP in the mail coming at me. The first part of my plan is still secret, but hopefully will unveil it by the end of next week.

I prefer the filter be further up there. I cut the intake pipe so that I had max length while still clearling the BOV and coolant tank.
