What have you done to your MSP today?

Light in my gauge cluster burned out, all the way on the left, temp and fuel level. Is that the sort of thing you can get at or am I just going to have to live with it?

took the head off my motor to find out what the ticking sound came from and it was the lifters making the noise. i think! they have a little bit of play under the crank. so i will be putting back the 10w30 oil in it tomorrow and then see if it makes the ticking and if it does i will be changing out the lifters and springs.

Hope that works out for u. However, i dont see the oil making a difference.

The valve train is always noisy. You can always hear the lifters, especially if you have an after market manifold.

So I picked up my motor from my machinest yesterday. Only paid $200 for them to clean the block and the head. Bore the block .020 over. Polish my crank. Surface my head. And fit my pins to my pistons.

Think I got a damn good deal there.

Now I just need to pick up a clutch, and have my crank balanced and she's done.

they polished it but didn't balance? wtf?

oh and joe... your sig is wrong, I'm SURE there are ppl here who have gone longer than a year 0-60. lol

so.......I think its finally change my rear motor mount as its caused a leak in my exhaust pipe. I have a SU front mount and I filled my stock mounts and can definitely tell the rear is shot.

recommendations?

also, whats the easiest way to change it? from above or below?

easy way from everything I've heard is to remove the IM. the nuts that hold it are on top of the mount, so a breaker bar with a flex head will probably make short work of it after that.

blugh...I really dont want to deal with pulling the IM lol cuz that means I'll need a new gasket for that and s*** hahaha

like most things on this car, its gonna take a lot of work. your choice whether you spend that time wrestling around parts, or removing them. I did my WGA without removing anything but the EGR connection, but it was a b**** and required some creativity. might have been easier removing s*** but I just didn't want to. more than one way to skin a cat, as they say.

Yeah, it's a small shop behind the guys house. They did'nt have the machine to balance it. He polished/resurfaced it by hand.

Told them that I'd have more work for him next year, and he said "I don't know if I'll be around next year, I think I'm working on another stroke..."

^Waiting for funds to come in? Or just time constraints?

A little of both. Working on the house, and a bunch of other stuff.
