ok so im looking into dropping my p5 and putting some mazda 6 17" wheels on it but gotta make sure i can keep it as the family car, so anyone out there that has some sort of a set-up like this? the reason being i have had rubbing issues with larger tires when me and the wife and 2 kids are in the car... thanks in advance

how low are you looking at? Coilovers? Springs? "Dropping" means different things to different people....to some it's an inch, to others it isn't dropped until there's sparks.

with 17" wheels, you want a 215/40 tire to keep the speedo ratio closest to stock. any mazda 6 wheel will bolt right up, just pick one you like. If your lowering with springs you wont have any problems rubbing.

until we know with what suspension parts you're going with its useless to speculate

He's asking for input, guys....

I say Tokico blues and Eibach Springs. That combo will offer a nice looking drop and still maintain a family friendly ride.

i've used the racing beat springs, they are indeed very good. ran them with 17 inch racing harts from an MSP and loved em.

I've also got the Racing Beat springs (off the MSP) and they are great. Not as low as I want but definitely good on the handling factor.

ok thanks for everything guys, yeah not 100% sure on what setup just want something a bit lower and some 17s and still able to put the kids in the back. i got some 15" intrepid steels with bigger then stock tires that rub everytime i hit a bump. ill keep looking around for everything, got the idea in my head what i want just dont want to load the car up and then look like a douche and rub around every corner lol

I had no problems sittin this low WITH 5 adults in the car....
The only time i had any rubbing was when we got down to NYC for thanksgiving...
But we all know how horrible the roads are in queens/bronx

215/45/17s on coilovers, No Fender/ panel modification whatsoever

looks great man (cool)

Dont look so great anymore, i sold it to my buddy adam who introduced it to a guardrail about 2 weeks later...

I have 2 Kids, so i opted for the RB MSP springs and Tokiko shocks. I also don't want my car to be a snow plow in the winter. I have not yet put them in though. I'm running 17" rims in the summer.

I have 2008 Mazda 6 rims on my PR5 and they fit and look nice, I haven't lowered it yet, not sure how much i want to spend on the suspension
my tires are 215/40/17 I got the on tire rack, and they are good in the snow too. About 60 each on sale. They are nice if you want to drive with them all year.
