Could you answer a question for those of us that have had the carpet out? What is the purpose of the hole in the floor in the second row passenger area:

Easy access to fuel pump... I think...

^^^ Your absolutely right .. also the fuel tank sits right under here and during seam welding it gets removed

a Speed 3 drive train so much superior to a Mazda5 drive train that it makes
all the work worth the effort?

a supercharger?

If a six-speed transmission is needed, why not just install one?

the amount of work installing a turbo and a six speed IS as much work as installing a entire drivetrain, at least in my way of thinking.
and as you've noticed, there is a significant power increase.
