3m carbon fiber wrap...

u guys shouldnt really clear vinyl,
i dont think the clear will stick to the vinyl to well..

i here ya... but i'm gonna try it anyways... clear coat is pretty sticky stuff last time i helped my friend paint my moped... i'm not really worried about it not sticking... i'm more worried about it not laying flat... i'm gonna hit my friend up next week though... been busy this whole week on orders

Ya know i was thinknng bout this after reading this thread, what if ya used something along the lines of that clear rock gaurd/protector that you put on your hood and bumpers.Do ya think that might work????

I'm deffinately considering this stuff for a project car. dont know if it will hold up.
It's not tested well enough. but it's cheaper than painting.
also should consider neffywrap. and chameleon.
may do a mix of a carbon and chameleon. I'll post prices and colours.
a full carbon fibre car may be a bit excessive. although ill have genuine tailights hood + spoiler, i think it will only work on widebody style cars....
if everyone starts doing it, it may become the gayest thing around but no1 has it yet....

still haven't gotten around to taking a piece to get clear coated... but did a few more pieces...
Did The Gauge Face, Lock Button Cover, And Dual Gauge Bezel
the possibilities are endless

808 your killing me I just ran out of it I've got to get more haha

lol... i still have quite a bit left... plus a ton of scraps...
and me and two other friends just split a 40sq ft roll... just waiting for delivery
hehe... you can't have enough of this stuff

My god 808 thats crazy...after I buy my Turbo in the next couple of days I'm buying a roll because its like an addiction I couldn't stop covering. I'm going to cover the pillers by the back window next and do the gauges like you did.

Haha, well I'm going to have to redo the seat belt bolt covers. I think I'll cut section pieces of each slope and lay them flush with each other

never thought this thread would be up to 9 pages when i started it. i think i have all the info i need, i will be ordering shortly lol

i guess so, if you mean like the clear vinyl stuff then yea that would work, but seems like to much work to me lol

and to 808, when you do try to clear it make sure u wipe it down with some degreaser or something first, ive painted a couple car parts and my motorcycle so i have had some experiences where the clear doesnt stick
it technically sticks to the surface but not evenly so it looks like ass cuz it has dimples everywhere

let me know how it goes

will 40square foot cover the exterior of most cars?
I'm just assuming so. too lazy too measure up.
was quoted 500+ locally for 10 meters.
doing pillar sections and above the doors is gonna b a b**** though.

thats sux about the clear. but it starts looking plastic like in the jobs i'v seen clearcoated

know this is about a week late, but i doubt 50 sq ft would cover a car. a hood by itself is almost 5x5, figure the trunk is too after the bend, so poof theres your 50 ft.

youd need probably 150 sq ft to cover a car... its not going to be in the ideal shape and youre going to have a lot of scrap

I want to try this out and clear it with the urethane clear that I have laying around, but I got bigger projects on my hands right now.
