I have a driver side rear actuator to trade for a passenger side rear if anybody has one available.

I was able to get to my faulty 2003 P5 Front Driver's side thanks to a few different posts in this forum. I opened the actuator up and hit my remote door unlock / lock and the whole thing popped out into my face, something I did not read, hopefully the next person that reads this can not have this happen to them Unfortunately I can't find one of the two springs after much searching...shame because I have identified the issue is with the motor, and with this forum's help can find the replacement...looks like I have to shell out for the whole piece from one of the online sites.

I have a stupid question though, I have a "with keyless entry" actuator, right? If I use my key fob to lock / unlock my front drivers side door, that is a keyless actuator right?

If you can lock and unlock your car doors with a remote then you have a keyless entry system so you'll need a keyless entry actuator.

Door Lock Actuator Finding.

Great posts from all the group. Agree with the last comment, Fixing them or buying old parts will last for some days before breaking again.

I am either looking for the new part or then looking for options to install a different type of actuator on my doors as they break .

Well, finally got a chance to replace the actuator. It was pretty straight forward. The only issue I had was figuring out how to remove the door handle cover and trying not to get the sticky black seal all over the place.

FINALLY BROKEN DOOR LOCK FIX!!!!

I bought a 2000 Protege for MOM it had bad doors locks, all around, upon inspection I saw that it was a plastic gear, dealer wont sell the gear by itself just the whole assembly for over $ 50 A DOOR, parta alone would have been over $ 200 bucks.

Well , I am know manufacturing the screw gear that gets broken and will be selling it on ebay or direct here . I will start having the gears here in less than 60 days.
